If you are feeding kibble, you might want to check out Taste of the Wild dog food.  It is grain free (no corn, soy etc.), and both my dogs look great.  Here's the link if you want to check it out:  (and no, I do not work for the company..lol)

This is what I'd be feeding if it were easier for me to get.  I hate having to pay the shipping prices on muliple big bags of food!

I highly recommend this food to anyone who prefers to feed raw, part-raw, or no-grain diet to their dogs.  This is a quality no-grain kibble food with excellent high-meat content ingredients - with a normal level of protein unlike other no-grain foods where protein levels are WAY too high - the same level as cat foods (way too high for dogs with normal activity levels)

Excellent food.  And the dogs love it too!

how long have you been feeding this food?

seems high protein is that fine?

is this better than royal canine? price seems similar to it.

wondering how many feeding this product with great success would like to hear.

thanks

RC isn't even in the same league as TOTW. TOTW, EVO, Orijen, Instinct and Wellness CORE all get a 6 stars rating.

It is higher protein than royal canin or other "grain ingredient" dog foods, because the meat content is higher.  But TOTW is much lower protein than other no-grain foods such as EVO, Orijen and others.  MUCH lower. IMO the protein is very reasonable.  I've been feeding it since it came out, not even a year ago?  I feed the Prairie formula.

I've been feeding it almost a year.  My Shepherd (pictured) eats it with gusto, and my 13 year old Jack Russel who in the past had skin allergies (itch itch, scratch scratch) to the point where I would have to get him a steroid shot, hasn't had any skin issues since switching him over to TOTW.

If you are unable to get it at a decent price around your area, I would highly recommend contacting the company and asking if they have any reps that service your general area.  They have always been really good about answering questions or referring me to my area rep (who is an amazing person...).  They take care of their customers.   Good Luck...

Taste of theWild is made by Diamond

by eichenluft on 12 June 2008 - 21:06

Yes, made by Diamond - which is why the price is so good too :) - very good food,  highly recommended.   Not involved in the food recalls - no CORN ingredient.  Same as Chicken Soup (another excellent dog food made by Diamond-  no corn or wheat ingredient) very reasonably priced excellent food.

I feed Diamond Naturals (60 lb and over) now and I just love the stuff.  I have never had a problem with or a complaint about Diamond.   I have never found the quality for that price so I'm sticking with their products.
