Saw an ad for blue/gold and pure blue short coats, didn't even know they existed.

Can they be shown or are they treated like whites?

What about pure blacks,same question.

http://www.kerstoneshepherds.net/colors/colors.htm

Blue is a dilute, and as such, is disqualified from showing in the FCI-sanctioned GS breed registries.

So yes, they are treated like whites - as non-entities.

True black is not at all like them, and is very much accepted in all registries.  They are fully pigmented, and because they naturally include the requirement of "black muzzle", are considered normal, good GS.

Thanks for the links.

Don't see black/gold,is it listed as black/tan?

I've seen a few litters listed elsewhere as black/tan,some look like black/gold to me.

in the german color-standard there is no "gold" or "red" listed as description, these are ways to describe color by people, but not the standard.  Standard is only "black-brown" for black/tan, black/red or black/gold dogs.

Molly are you in the Newville area? I was wondering if you are the same Molly as I saw listed as having a Schutzhund Club? Thanks!

I'm the only Molly :)  Yes, Newville area PA.  I don't have a Schh club, but I belong to one and have a small group who meets for bitework almost every week here.

Thank you Molly.....I thought you might be the person I had read about. I am east of you, over in Etters. I have been trying to find a club to train my Pup at. He is 4 1/2 months old. If ok with you I will send you an e-mail and see if you could possibly steer me in the right direction. Thanks again!  Sorry for interrupting the thread.....
