My bitch is currently in heat. She started bleeding this past Tuesday. (she came in a month early) When would be the safest time to spay her after her heat?

Hello-
The veterinarians I work with suggest 1 month after her first sign of heat (bleeding) is the safest.

Female will be at hormonal peak 3 months after her heat, which would coincide with time pups are weaned and normal life continues and she would have to resume hunting with the pack to feed extra mouths. That is the best time to spay. Performance dog breeds, ie racing dogs are in their best physical shape at that time.
