I am new to this board. And perhaps this is totally inappropriate. I have been seeing the airing of dirty laundry from the UK. I have seen so many postings from the USA. An occassional modest posting from SA. Old discussion in India. But, where are the rest of you? Who said this had to be an English speaking only board? If you, in your mother tongue wish to say something, why don't you enliven this arena to be what it could be? Just a thought. Perhaps some will also take more pride in the countries they represent and skip the inappropriate language, the personal assaults. . . when they realize they represent more than just their microcosm. Where is Germany? The country of our breed's origin? Where is Africa? Where is Asia? Where is Australia? Where is South America? Come and participate so that this is not only an Anglo platform but an international one that may challenge us all!

HI, Sunshine LOL I have been thinking just what is going on, is this just a USA site now? But, When you under a good dog comments there here but talking about what? good dogs.

by sunshine on 08 October 2004 - 08:10

Lathan, First of all thank you for responding to my question. And secondly, it is not only about our good dogs. . . but about making them better because they are probably the most wide-spread breed in the world. And thirdly, why does not Germany participate on this board, which is the country where our breed originates? So many breeders, so many fine trainers. . . Where are they? Just a very humble question.

Who said it was an Amarican site ?? Think! :)

by Angela on 08 October 2004 - 09:10

Yes, the german breeders and trainers are here too. But 1.we don't use the internet to get contact with other breeders (the distance are not so far in germany, we can meet us) and 2. we have to work outside with our dogs. I'm sure, the most people, who is each day answering and posting here don't work with the dogs, they like him, of course, but perhaps, there will be a different. Please be friendly in reponding. (Hope my english is not to bad for this messageboard. Greetings from germany!!

I would have thought almost everyone on this site would have realised why the majority of German breeders will not make a comment on this site. There is a mindless minority who thrive on making totally unfair personal attacks on anyone who is well known in our breed, or who has any success in our breed. What is worse is that they do it anonymously. While this is allowed to continue this site will never attract comments from many of the successful GSD breeders and exhibitors. This clearly means we all lose the benefit of their knowledge and experience. I very much doubt if this situation will ever change, indeed I think many people are moving away from the message board, and enjoying the rest of this excellent site, and who can blame them. What could be an informative, constructive, educational, exchange of views on this message board is without doubt being seriously damaged by the mindless minority.

We have people from all over the world here. I for one am from Bosnia. There are some great pople here and we can learn a lot from them. However, there is also a minority which realy does not deserve a comment. For me this site has been a great asset and nothing can spoil that.

I am from Norway, and use this site often. Just to be updated on whats going on in the gs world. But there is a few people thrashing this site, with stupid comments on persons. We all love the gs dog, and we all have different opinions on the dogs. But personal attacks should be keept away from the site. The discussions shouldn`t.

Hi, this board is used by people all over the world, alot of German breeders read it. We just don't participate in discussions that really don't influence us, we're much closer and meet almost every week or phone, we don't need the net for it. If anybody has a valid question, someone from Germany will almost always respond. Greetings from Germany Bea
