I have been looking at their website and they have some very beautiful dogs. I live in the United States and am thinking of possibly getting a pup from them and importing it myself. Are they an honest kennel to deal with? If you have bought a pup from them would you recommend them to someone else? I have never imported a dog or pup myself. I have always used an importer so any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Mysti

Mysti, I have imported several puppies and older dogs from the Urbecke Kennel and they have proven to be honest and honorable, and yes, they do have some very beautiful dogs. Please feel free to email me if you would like more information. Regards, Andrew

Hi Mysti- I don't live in the states, but I can highly recommend the Urbecke Kennels as being respectable and honest. Isabelle

Hello Mysti, I have had the honor of getting an imported puppy from the Urbecke Kennels. Let me say that I too had the same concerns, however it went so smooth and they made certain everything was perfectly in order, I would say that I intend to do it again when the timing is right. Mr. Stenner was as professional and helpful as he could be. I recieved a happy, healthy, very spunky puppy eager to get out of his crate and be loved. About 3 weeks to a month later I recieved all my puppy's paperwork. Good Luck in your search for a puppy and I hope he/she brings you a ton of happiness. Respectfully, Debbie

I bought a Bazi pup from Urbecke about 15 months ago. The transaction was a little bumpy due to the language barrier. I'm still not convinced that the pup I got was the one I requested. She failed her hip xray and she has a very wobbly rear end. When I complained, I was given a refund. This didn't turn out the way I planned.....next time I won't buy a pup unless I can see it first.

Cowboy, it is good that you found an overseas breeder who honours their contract as so many stories are told here of breeders who will not do that. That you recieved a faulty puppy is unfortunate, but the kennel did the right thing in this case. As far as I am concerned that is an "Attaboy" to the kennel Urbecke for doing what is right. It is bad enough that many stateside breeders will not honour their contracts or do the "right thing" and it is nearly impossible to win when contesting a purchase that was done across international borders. The second part of your post proves a valid point; whether or not it is really true in your case. For anyone who wishes to import a puppy there is no substitute for (a) travelling to that breeder and personally selecting your puppy, or (b) having a trusted person near the kennel help you with the selection of the puppy. I know that neither are easy (nor cheap) when there is the combination of a language barrier and a great distance. At least in one (1) way your deal with this kennel worked out, and hopefully you will have better luck the next time. Regards and Good Luck, Bob-O

Bob-O, thanks for the input. You're right - Urbecke was fair and honest. I did get all the SV paperwork quickly and the refund was also handled quickly too.
