I am very proud of my Bazi.
He was VA1 in the USA in 2006 at the NASS and in 2007 he was V6 at the German Sieger Show.
On Oct 21,2007 he was V1 at large show in Fallingbostel,Germany where there over 50 dogs competing in the 24 months and over male working class .
here is a new stack photo of him.

Mighty handsome boy! I'd be interested in hearing about how Bazi came into your life. How did you two meet?

Day,
I live in Taiwan where I have a few showlines dogs that compete in Sch trials with the working dogs here. My main dog of the show line is a dog (now retired) Chroko von Larchehain 2002 HGH class SG3 in Germany that has competed as one of the top working dogs on the Island
My other dogs are famous pure working dogs.
anyway, I was on a trip to Germany actually looking for a new working dog and driving all over the country following this lead and that lead. A friend introduced me to Fritz Stenner of the Urbecke Kennels. a long time ago Fritz had working dogs before showlines so he really breeds and trains his dogs to work well. He showed me his SG4 Sieger Show year 2005 Dog Bazi and I really was not interested until I saw him work and I saw it was better than the majority of pure working dogs besides being beautiful and the spirit of what GSD should be (in my opinion)
He was very proud of Bazi and was not planning on selling him but not long after I met him he started having some health problems as he is 75 and he was not sure he could continue. I was introduced to him by a close friend of his so to make a long story short we cut a deal based on me keeping Bazi in germany for the 2006 Sieger show and then I would bring him back to Taiwan.
so, it was sort of fate that I bought him and fortunately, Fritz 's health improved and heias strong as ever but now Bazi is mine.
In 2006 Bazi did not do as good as i was expecting as he had a bad day during the Sieger show and placed V17.
After the Sieger show i felt he had more potential so I decided with Fritz and his team to alter his training and make some changes and let him stay another year in germany to try again in 2007. To do well at the Sieger show the local shows during the year are just as important and a dog needs to get exposure and be known by the judges by doing very well in the various shows throuout the year in Germany. You need to actually campaign your dog. No dog will all of suddebn show up in Germany for the Sieger show without being a well know dog on the circuit and expect a seious placing.
Anyway, in 2007 he placed V6 and I think based on his condition and training he will even improve his placement in 2008 so again I decided to leave him in Germany as it is better for his career as well as there are many people wanting to use him as a stud because of his looks and working ability. Our market in Taiwan is too small and we will have a lot more progeny if he stays in germany to at least after the 2008 German Sieger Show.
So, I only see him when I visit Germany and of course on the phone and on the computer, but it gives me great pleaure handling the career of such an outstanding dog. For my self on a day to day basis I am busy with my other dogs here in Taiwan so I am not dog less.
If I could I would love to have Bazi with me instead of this long distance love relationship but I have convinced myself to be patient and I will bring him home to Taipei when it is right for his career.
I feel with a great dog we have a responsibility to help them reach their potential and create as many good progeny for other people to develop and enjoy.
Some people think I am crazy but i love my dogs and I really appreciate the displine, hard work, conditioning and training that goes into making a great dog. If we could use those standards and work ethic on ourselves we would all probably be better people.
Meanwhile, my other dogs compete at world levels in the FCI , BSP ,WUSV and BSZS so I can keep busy with dogs full time if I wanted to or if i could afford to
So, like many of us I am bit by the German Shepherd bug in my own sort of way.

Jeffrey,
A very nice stack photo of Bazi. He is looking very good. I fell for Bazi at NASS 2006. A very deserved winner. Would you please swing him by Texas in 2009. LOL.
You obviously have a good eye for working dogs. In my opinion, this dog is the best of the best and I can only congratulate you and his breeder for his living up to all expectations.
What a nice story!

Jeffrey,
In Bazi, you have a very nice male and must be deservedly proud of him.
In him, unlike in many of the winning males, I see a very balanced male who is not overly done (no coarse, heavy head with droopy lips). If Bazi is normal in size and produces his genotype and correct size, he should make a great contribution to the breed.
Congratulations!!
