can someone explain why people are paying $2,500.00 to kraftwerk for an 8 week old puppy are his dogs that much more superior than the other work dogs out there??
even the showlines?what is this all about $5,000 for a crap shoot. i just don't understand it.

and the killer is most dogs turn out to be no more than pets.

It all comes down to marketing and Kraftwerk does it well.  I wouldn't pay more than $1500 for a working pup.  I've seen a couple of Kraftwerk pups in the field and neither impressed me as $2500 dogs or even $1500 dogs.

Pups are a complete gamble.  You can buy one with top parents titled parents with a1 hips and still get a pup with HD.  Yes you can (in most cases) return the pup and get another pup but you've already put alot of time and money into that first pup and you're probably pretty attached.  Such is the world of animals though.

Not all puppies are that much just depends on what lines, what kennel, and what you are willing to pay? .

Same reason people will pay $2500.00 for a Labradoodle or a Yorkie-poo.......they don't know any better

that's just it....... WHY are people actually paying these kind of prices?

and this has become fairly new, especially with the working lines..i see nothing wrong with$1000-1,500 for an EXCELLENT well thought out breeding.

but 2,500.

saw one of his dogs today a year old, the guy could have got this caliber of dog for 1,000 if he knew what he was doing, but it is all about the salesman and marketing,i guess they are too weak to say,no PUPPY is worth that kind of money.

but I will say that I'd rather see someone pay 2500 for a dog bred by SV standards than one that is not..... JMO

You do not need to pay $2500 for a puppy period.  Even if you want a show line dog no way $2500.  You can get a super POTENTIAL puppy for $1000.  And yes that is only potential because puppies are a crap shoot.....  people that spend more either dont know better or think that more money means better pup, not so. To those people that sell them at that price have done one hell of a marketing  job.  T

I too looked at Kraftwerk a while back before I bought my Agar.  I wasn't looking for a pup but an adult trained dog.  They did not impress me or my trainer who was looking for a dog for me and they were very pricey for what they were selling at the time so we moved on.

I think the average I'm hearing people paying for nice working line pups out of very good pedigrees is about $1000-1,500.

I think it's fair considering I met a Yorkie breeder at the airport who was shipping pups out the day I picked up my female and he sells them little anke biters for $1,500 a pop.  He told me he has 60 dogs and the largest litter he gets is 4 if he's lucky- guess that's why he has so many dogs....he never has a problem selling them all and ships all over the world.

$1,500 for a dog that does nothing but annoy the hell out of you seems pretty silly to me. lol  I'll stick to my shepherds.

Agarphranicnistraze1, Ditto on the post too funny to each his own but I DID NOT KNOW Yorkies were in that price range.

Most decent working lines are from 1,000 to 1,500 pretty much the average price range dont know anything about Kraftwerk or their dogs.

had 2 litters this year,, pups sold for 500 to 1000.  i would not pay more than that for a pup so i dont charge more than that.   the saddest part is that some people think if they pay more they are getting a better dog.  this could be true in some cases,, but if you  do your homework and know a little about pedigrees, you can still find the good deals out there.

2500 and up for a puppy,,, your crazy,,, you can import young green dogs for that price and can sometimes find titled dogs for a little more.  price starts going up the more people you have to go through to get your dog.  everyone wants a slice of the pie.
