Sorry for posting this again but I don't think anyone replied last time I asked.

Figured somebody would know

What does "HD TC" mean on a foreign pedigree (Netherlands) and

what is the OFA equivalent? All I found out is it is "transitional case" so I'm assuming

that's not a wonderful thing but hoped someone could shed some light on that for me.

Thanks in advance!

Maligator,

TC means "Transmissional Changes", the same as "fast normal" in SV HD evaluation grade and B in FCI HD evaluation grade.

Transmissional does not mean fast normal    many fast normal dogs  rated OFA GOOD   my under standing OFA transmissional is boarderline to mild dysplasia  or between fair and mild     I would more or less compare it to the HD stamp  " noch zugelassen "

No, Pia in Holland the best a dag could get was HD "Min" then HD "TC" then HD "Plus Min"

TC you can compare with A Normal. Very few dogs got the HD "Min" the Dutch rating was much more selective than the German A stamp.

Sardonix is correct, when I imported my dog from Holland (Tiekerhook) she had HD-TC hips and it was explained to me the same.  HD- is like excellent, HD-TC is "normal" and HD+ is "not so good"

My female also OFA Good at 6 years old - the vet who took her x-rays was previously on the OFA board and he called them "OFA excellent or he'd eat his hat" - don't know if he ate his hat but Good was good enough for me.

So HD is excellent, then 'HD A' is good also? This is my Tiekerhook dog also.

Finally got his papers and was looking at everything

Thanks for the help.

I did a research years ago, 4500 (Dutch) dogs examined in Holland only 228 got HD "min"

4500 (Dutch) dogs examined in Germany 2173 got A Normal

there is a chart on internet that is giving a totally wrong picture , somewhat like pia says

years ago I had several dogs Xrays send in to holland , germany and amerika

all HD TC came in OFA exelent in america  and A normaal germany

HD LP   came in OFA good in america and A fast n. in germany

the dutch hipratings were the toughest in the world  , now they changed to A B C etc

   A  = Anormaal

   B = fastnormaal

  C  = zugelassen
