You can't do anything unless you got a contract in writing, verbal agreements are very slippery and likely will not hold up.

A verbal agreement is just as good as a written agreement, but you have to be able to prove the agreement was made. Without witnesses, your chances are slim and none. I could also make the argument that the bitch owner might even state that he made such an agreement but he made the agreement meaning that HE would pick from the litter, not you. If you have two witnesses, you probably have a good shot of winning a suit, unless of course the witnesses are your relatives of friends. Take the pup he is offiering. If you have read this site for any length of time, you should know that chances are, you will get screwed even more if you start bickering with the bitch owner, and will probably end up with no pup at all. Just learn from this and move on.
