Questioning someone's honor over an unsuccessful attempt to contact is rather extreme, don't you think? You really were not fair in the way you titled this post, all that will remain in a lot of peoples mind is that somewhere, at some time they saw or read something negative about the kennel.

Unless that was your intent?

People are jumping the gun a bit quickly here again. If this was not such a well known kennel responses may have been quite different. As they have been in the past with similar questions. Then responses were often like.... if they will not respond now what might happen once you have your pup.... or, I would be careful... etc. Not saying this is the case here. Just that this kind of response to the poster is not necessary. The question overall is quite legit. Though I have to agree it could have been put differently. Not that that is anything strange on this site. Recently many posts have been way out of line. Reading the message board has become a chore and people wonder why some of the old time posters just don't bother any more. Well, this post is just one other example.

The individual inquiring to an ad or to a kennel only sees their message. One person inquiring, can't be that hard to have someone get back to them, can it? They do not see the tons of other messages that all go to the same person. Maybe 10, 20, 30 inquiries a day, when ads are placed it can be more than that. Most of which are just window shoppers or unqualified prospects and not serious anyways. Once you have filtered out those half of the rest are from GSD newbies who see you as their only source of information though libraries and google is full of the same info, but its so much easier to just bend someones ear and take up a lot of time. Some messages are from existing customers who have a bit more urgency to get back to. And some are from friends who provide a much needed break from the rest, but of course also tie up your time. Once you have weeded through all this and a couple of hundred spam eMails per day because in order for people to find you you have to put your eMail out there and spammers find you too, then maybe 5% of the incoming eMails are actually serious inquiries. By the time you get to that one from said individual the day may be over, so you put it in your todo file for the next day or two. That one serious individual inquiring has gotten very impatient in the meantime though because he really had his heart set on that one special dog and really, really wants it. And of course wants it right now, or at least more info and may have mailed back. In this case possibly more than once, and with each message possibly sounding more impatient. If the kennel is then looking at a dozen or so messages from the same individual it could possibly raise a red flag. Or is considered just annoying for that moment and pushed back on the todo list a few more days, can't deal with this right now. Especially if that individual has a funky eMail addy, which the sender might think is cute, the recipient maybe not so much.

Again, as with so many other topics, its all a matter of perspective. Had the kennel name not been mentioned responses may well have been very different. Very different. Does not mean the poster has ulterior motives. People really need to stop with these constant witch hunts on this board and the constant paranoia! And the kennel may well have a good reason for not responding. Does not make the kennel good or bad either. Respect for the kennels or the persons that are being posted about has gone out the window on this board a long time ago. Disagree, fine. The constant bashing and accusations are tiring. It also sets the stage for those that are new to this board. Newcommers to this site will not be able to help but think that this is the way to post on this board. Very sad. According to Oli 90% of the site users are new to it.

Purhaps or is it perhaps? The post didn't contain the your required bits of information for a reason. Public forums like this are heavily visited by spammers to harvest and resell fresh active emails for usage or for resale. Ask the webmaster here how many times a day is this website visit by internet spiders looking for data? I rather not have my email out there. As to leaving my telephone number on the site, if I choose not to leave an email address on post, why would I leave a phone number? are you comfortable having such information available on the web for the public view?

DH -- thanks for the postive post, some enlightment is required on my part. Since your was a decent post.. please.. take my as tongue in cheek. and not a attempt at recourse.

they may be busy, --- no offense.. but that is kinda lame.. after all... are we not all busy in some way shape or form?

the dogs you inquired about are already sold, -- possible but if the website is not updated... people are going to ask if they are interested. yes?

your email ended up in the spam folder, or got deleted by mistake -- possible.. but the email was done through their on website contact us email page.. so if that tool is sending emails to a spam folder.. they have a problem with system and could be losing a great number of possible good to great sales leads.

(if pillpusher is part of your eMail addy that may not be the most convincing first intro) tsk tsk.. did mom mention something about books' covers? maybe I am a drug sale rep.. or was a pharmacist mate in the navy? its a handle.. not reflection.. you have people here with names like seriousily or getarealdog should be taken as gospel as to the type of person they are? Maybe I should change my handle to iwannabumpngrindya after all.. its a hockey term .. is it not?

your number could not be made out in the message you left -- hmmmm doubt it, as I am kinda anal about leaving voice mails of a business nature.. name , tel number , time and date called... then the message.. and once again.. name .. time called and the number slowly stated.

if push comes to shove there are lots of reasons why you are not getting a response. -- and that is true...
