What are some show dogs or lines that have the fight of workers, and produce this in the pups?
Or what are some working lines with consistent correct conformation?

Uber Land has given good advice. Look for Quartz in the pedigree and then look at the dog to see what it has to offer. I see some excellent abilities from Vando Moorbeck too.
Mother is important too.

Dog1,
I really liked Vando. While the Ulk sons in general are not my favorite, Vando brought together Ulk with the Fanto Hirschel line. I believe this to be an excellent combination for temperament, working ability, balance, etc. Quartz, Gucci, Amigo line seems quite consistent on temperament and ability. Also the Mark line has continued to produce good workers through sons of Enzo Buchorn. Also look at Timo line (what is available). Timo is a unique combination of the Quando line with Fanto, and his paternal granddam has a short line straight back to Racker Itztal and Pirol Kirschental, who was one of the most important producers of BSP dogs in his day. It is unfortunate that Timo was not better used, but he does have a few very good sons who may cary on his genetics. Best Wishes, Jonah

Ok, at the risk of sounding like some idiot talking up their own dog....my bitch Uzi von der Mausespitz has incredible working drives. She impresses every helper I've taken her to. I'm afraid I couldnt tell you what side she gets it from, but I have worked with some Jaguar progeny with equally excellent work ethic. However, I did know someone who owned a Teiga Mausespitz daughter who claimed her work was very strong also.
Locally, I know of a Ando son and the full litter brother to Baran (I think?) Bad-Boll and a Zamp Thermodos son that are all serving as police K9.

He is linebred 3-4 on Vando-Vanta Moorbeck and 3-4 on Ulk Arlett. I know many helpers in the US can testify to his crushing grips and powerful attacks. :-)
From what I have seen and heard he is also passing this temperament to his progeny, along with very god conformation.

Jonah,
I'm with you on Quartz and Vando. I see second generation and the abilities are there consistently.
I'm watching the dogs from Enzo too, especially the Nero sons. I have a dynamite Campino daughter and have seen some other from Teejay and Maestro that I'm keeping my eye on. It's still a little early for me to say definately, but, like I said, I'm watching them too.
Speaking of Enko....I was hoping to use him on my Ronaldo offspring and hope he's still within reach in Canada. Howbreeders that breed so they say can pass up this dog is beyond me. Go figure. Linebred on the V litter and a descendent of Feli. What more could you ask for?
Kelly, I'm with you on Jaguar. None like him that I've seen. Some close,,,,I handled him at a Bernard Flinks seminar in VA. He was for real! I think Uzi has some interesting genetics coming from the linebreeding on Jaguar's mother.

I have a Quartz daughter (also happens to be an Ulk granddaughter) who at 10.5 years old still has what it takes.
I love the Arlett lines! These dogs definately can work! That's why I have as many of them as I do.

I think that is an excellent question. We hear this so often: what are the showline dogs that can really work? Everyone says we need to work on improving the showline working abilities but when it comes down to it's always the same thing; People breed to the flavor of the day-- VA rated males that barely pass the courage test... politics, politics, politics. Judges are promoting weak dogs, helpers are enabling weak dogs to pass the courage test (as instructed by the judge), breeders are using these weak dogs and ignoring truly correct males with serious working drives and courage, all this is contributing to ruining our breed!!!
What is the point of this discussion? Breeders want to know which showline dogs possess strong working ability and then ignore them. It's very frustrating to see this over an over!
