Gustav, have you ever been engaged with original litter of pups from East Germany? if you did, then tell us what damn was so much specialized in them to wreck breed of shepherd? here is video (shitty shot but only one available) of Gero z Blatenskeho Zamku, shown by Jiri Novotny in no staged walk by surrounding.
Gero by his temperament was considered among breeders and GSD community as a hard/civil dog and was used with purpose to replicate of himself in his progeni.

what in the hell wrong, you and other opponents of hard dogs, can see in this dog?
duke 1965, in last your post you're right. strong defense drive have been part of standard from very beginning... 'till it did start to negatively impact financial gains of breeders.
but they continue to insist that they breed the dogs perfectly to the standard.

How does the hardness of Gero manifest itself in that little bite with front teeth and repeatedly biting the sleeve on the ground?
My dog on page one here is ten times the dog...and reproduced his fighting traits in his offspring.
I have one of his sons now that will fight the man, not the sleeve like gero did.

joanro, i'm absolutely sure that Czechoslovakian border control service did lost a lots when they didn't appoint you as commanding officer and director of their z Pohranicni Straze kennel back in 1981

one good thing is to see a dog that is not jumping on every stranger licking faces and wagging tail.
I worked and own 2nd and 3th generation Gero offspring and will take them over most sport line dogs today

"...jumping on every stranger licking faces and wagging tail"
sounds like dream dog for true breeders, isn't?
in meantime, headlines in the news "citizen was killed during his walk by furious german shepherd dog, which was at same time on the walk with owner and had licked stumbled innocent stranger, to the death"

Valk: " joanro, i'm absolutely sure that Czechoslovakian border control service did lost a lots when they didn't appoint you as commanding officer and director of their z Pohranicni Straze kennel back in 1981."
So, valk, instead of your childish response, why not answer my legitimate question....how is the 'hardness' you claim is being demonstrated in that vid of gero manifested?
Because all I see is sport dog and the needing to be fired up with a whip. Not to mention the condition of the dog is not looking too good there...he is flat footed and can't stand on the toes of his feet so much so, he is rocked back behind his pads. You also claimed the vid scene was not 'staged', when clearly it is.
You attempt demeaning, without even knowing the pedigree of the dog I referenced on page one, here, which is from novotny's partner's kennel (Pokorny) and my dog is PZS originated from DDR.
But I'm pretty sure that information is meaningless to you.
I think you are no more than a keyboard authority with zero real experience with actual dogs but only with virtual dogs on internet.
