Stacy, what an outstanding post! Everything you say is true. As you know, when the dogs were kept on the downlow and more or less underground, none of the massive problems that face the APBT breed today, existed.
You wrote pearls, when you stated, if one did happen to have a human aggressive dog, it sure a hell wasn't roaming the streets, breaking it's chain, or escaping it's kennel, etc...
In this era, finding what a knowledgable person would consider a well bred APBT, is next to impossible. Most all of the great numbers of Pits out there are all Shitbred. Combine the ever growing huge numbers of these Pits, and irresponsible owners, and what else but tragedy can be expected. Most of these owners, wouldn't even know how to set up a proper chain. (as evidenced by what started this thread).
Jenni, There is no reason that you would know the Gentleman in my avatar. I believe you are too young, and I doubt you would have hung in the same sporting circles. He has been dead now, for over 15yrs. He was one of the most famous of the Chicago Dogmen. He not only understood Gameness, but he produced Gameness in his own offspring (GATOR).
To say this Gentleman was colorful, is a huge understatement. He came out in my neck of the woods about 20yrs ago to help out his former Yard Boy, who was going through some legal trouble. He was all Man!

Thanks Abhay... And Jenni... I wasn't going to even address this thread but it was bothering me. You're absolutely correct Jenni in a lot of what you say about the dogs who are found that don't resemble gamedogs. Because the so-called real dogmen of old times gave their dogs a "proper" burial, whether it was a cur or not. They were not tossed into a ditch somewhere off the side of the road like garbage. Not that I condone littering either :-)
Anyway, here are a few pictures of back when I raised puppies how they were brought up.

I knew Abhay and a few others would take up this fight, to try and educate or atleast give the bullies a voice.

I'm glad somebody can speak for them, I've known a few in my time and they were great kid dogs. I also have seen some bad ones and it just makes me sad because they never had a chance. These poor dogs have been used, abused, thrown out like yesterday's trash and worst of all, have been given a rep they normally don't deserve. Glad to see so many who know what they really can and should be, kudos.

OMG Stacy!!! Those are the cutest pics!!! Love the one with the little boy laughing.

Thanks L.. I have literally hundreds of photos of pictures of my kids playing with my own and rescues that lived out the rest of their lives with me. Some were old, some young, but there were VERY few that were so aggressive they had to be put down... I loved being able to save so many of these wonderful dogs and show them the good life, where they won't be mistreated, used and abused!

I'm not a kid person Stacy but the smile on that little one...I would take him and the pup in a second.lol That smile is infectious. If someone looked at that and didn't smile....well it would be a very cold person. Such a cutie!! Post some more pics....I think that is one thing we can all actually agree on....we like pics.lol

Darn it, I have so much trouble with pictures here.
Sorry it's so big. I would like to most more of my bulldogs.

I think you can go to edit your post and right click on the pic and then it brings up a thing where it has the dimentions of the pic and you can clear it out and post a smaller size.I always go with 300.That seems to work.
