She is a Sable, but the problem is that her black is Only on the Saddle so she looks like a Saddle
there is a VA West German Showline Sable Dog Called " Grrr I can't remember! he was VA... I'll post when I remember.
and These are others :
The West German Showlines have virtually elimated Black/Bicolor and Even Sable, and they have concentrated so Hard on the Saddle ( being exactly a Saddle and not a Larger Blanket) that Now even the Sable dogs from these lines, have a saddle

Ooh...Fascinating! I never even thought of a sable having that little "sable" on it. I never really even thought of sables being in West German lines. I thought that color had been eliminated from the bloodline, leaving just the black'n'tans...
GSD Coat Colors: learn something new every day *lol*

One would think she is a pale sable from the pic, but she is B/T,
My Black/Tan is like this now, but had a darker saddle when younger.

Ok I have a question to throw out there, Bodie's brother Bonsai was born jet black, I mean not a light hair on him. My mother owns him so I see him almost every day. As he grew older he started getting the tan hairs or vents on his legs. He got more than I thought a solid black would get. I understand a solid black can get those tan hairs but his has more. If I can get a picture of it today I will share it and would like an opinion if he would sitll be considered a solid black or a deeper colored bi color.

Vent, I thought that was under the tail. Check under his tail for tan hairs :-)

If he does have the tan hairs (vent under the tail) then he would now be considered a bi color?

Pictures? I don't know if that would make him Bicolor. Karmen, Lets ask others :-)
