The 15 dogs a day may have been true many years ago. It has gotten better, less incidence of immediate use of deadly force. Social media, public shaming and use of the 4th amendment to hammer those with a need to shoot first has reigned this problem in a bit. We need to acknowledge its getting better and continue to hammer those dept's and individuals who immediately go to deadly force. I have for many years set news alerts fishing for each occasion an officer shoots first on dogs. These alerts are coming in much much less. Always work to be done but a pat on the ass once in a while goes along way.

" As a white man I'm two times more likely to be shot by the police then a black man."
I hate to say this but you are wrong.
As far as letting this thread go on. There have been legit police/dog shootings and ones that are very questionable to say the least. We aren't anti-police for allowing threads like these, there are tons of great police officers and a much smaller % of bad police officers and unfortunately as in all things the few screw it up for the many. We are dog lovers and we should discuss and agree/disagree on all the issues that affect our dogs including this topic.

The statement is correct.
Cops killed nearly twice as many whites as blacks in 2015. According to data compiled by The Washington Post, 50 percent of the victims of fatal police shootings were white, while 26 percent were black.
Programming by television and reality, differ often.
