I know I got an ass whooping if I didn't do as I was told. I never got bit by a dog back then.Only have now cause I train dogs and most aren't so lovey dovey. My GSD wasn't raised with kids but since i have trained him and socialized him with people he has been fine with my niece and nephew.I had my niece when she was 3 training my dog and walking him.Would i leave her with him alone....NO!! He has a hight prey drive and anything that she were to wave around he would most likely go for. He wouldn't mean to bite her but if her little hand was in the way...yea he might get her as he has done to me. If
I am there though he would be careful if she was giving him a treat. THAT IS WITH SUPERVISION.

Sara,
Check your facts.
I DID NOT HAVE IT REMOVED! Sara you'd better just back off unless you inform yourself better.
and NO my first litter was U after checking with USA and finding out that you can start with WHICH EVER LETTER YOU LIKE. Because unlike most, I CHECK MY FACTS.
4pack,
I to would never let a pack of children loose on my dogs. You assume to much.

Dogs are not more aggressive.
People are more stupid.

Coincidence then that three of four posts exposing you as a liar and fraud are removed? You have nothing to do with it?

by wlpool on 03 March 2010 - 03:03
NOPE, I didn't and if I NOT MISTAKEN it takes multiple hits on the abusive tab. I would hope by more than one computer as that would be unfair. My guess is Bienenkönigin and her crowns didn't like to have others show them up and attacked the button, but unlike most on the board, I can be wrong now and then.
W
Liar and fraud? HA, I back up all my statements with my name a name of an honest person that is willing to prove it. Unlike say you (but not only) who after attacking others refuses to put a name behind their words. That is the work of a liar and a fraud.

I don't care how many times you hit the abuse button to get the thread removed, the alphabet still starts with A, not U.

If you think outside of the box it starts with what you WANT it to start with AS PER USA!

Notice this was TWO dogs. HELLO!!!! What kinds of morons leave their kid alone w/two dogs? Two dogs behave far differently than one.
I have many dogs and one small baby. I won't even go to the bathroom, right off the room where he is, without either taking the dog(s) with me or I leave the door open, like if they're sleeping or something. That way I can see them at all times. If I get the mail, the dogs come outside with me. Do I trust my dogs w/him? Absolutely. I watch how every single one of them interacts with him. Not one has ever given me cause for concern, but granted, I am EXTREMELY picky about the temperament of the dogs I own. I am totally intolerant of weakness and have no problem eliminating dogs who shouldn't exist. But how am I going to teach him about dog safety if I set a precedent by leaving him alone w/my dogs? He needs to understand when he gets older that not all dogs are like our dogs, and I don't want him "getting comfortable" so to speak.
I worry he will have no fear of dogs because of how my dogs treat him, and he needs to understand that the neighbor's GSD is most likely not of the temperament of ours/his, and the neighbor's Pit Bull is not our Simon. It's just easier to make a practice of NEVER doing it, and setting a proper example. To try to pick and choose and discriminate leaves too much room for error.
Most people cannot read dogs properly. This is why so many of these things happen. You can read a molosser or a Pit Bull or anything else just fine if you have some skill and are diligent and pay attention to subtle cues. It's not rocket science. It is, however, way above the heads of the parents who have these poor children who get mauled and killed by their dogs, who undoubtedly showed signs long before.
