I hate to see politician's families get drug thru the mud but it happens, never forget when media made remarks about how ugly Chelese Clinton was and I had a daughter close to that age and it had to hurt her, The teenage years are tough enough for girls without those type remarks about you. Seems people forget they have feelings...

I suspect most of us have less than perfect families.

Don't any of you forget that the nastiest comment about "how ugly Chelsea Clinton was" was made by JOHN McCAIN about the teenage Chelsea.  The media reported it, but they were reporting what this GOP Senator was saying, so let's put that low blow squarely on the shoulders where it belongs: McCain's.

"Oh, c'mon, if Obama or Biden had a 17yo pregger daughter you'd all be raving about their "liberal" values.  And "support" for an unwed mother is most certainly a Democratic value - just ask Dan Quayle".

Just wondering............

How is Obama's Hut Bro in Kenya? ......Have not seen much about that in the media!!

It was said that McCain made the following joke but never proven for sure as far as I know...

"Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly?
Because her father is Janet Reno.
I true it was totally uncalled for.. Then the media had it on the news all the time and comedians/talk shows people talked about it.
All totally uncalled for imo..

You're right the Dems really show class and family values. Why they lead the way with people like.

Bill (I can't keep it in my pants) Clinton!

John (I am not cheating on my dying wife Elizabeth) Edwards!

Or Elliot (send the hooker to my room) Spitzer!

You sure changed my mind! Not

I agree, the media went after Bush's daughers with a vengence for a  period of time then went after Cheney and so on.

The politician is fair game but leave the families alone unless they are also in politics as that kinda opens them up as you can't expect to be politicial and declared off limits.

I don't give a tinker's damn whether the young lady is the daughter of a Democrat, a Republican or the family down the street.

That's a family matter and discussion about it should be kept within the family.  Had it been the family down the street it would never have made the news.  Bringing it to the public eye was pre-emptive I'm sure.  It's a damn shame that it's necessary to do that.

Both parties spend big bucks to dig up dirt on each other!  Good example is when Obama said he never aspired to be president and someone dug up his third grade papers where he wrote that he wanted to be president someday.

Bad effect is that keeps many good people out of politics as they don't want to put their families through it. Had to find people with perfect lives.
