doogiemom, there is a wealth of experience and knowledge here. You just have to identify those who have accomplished the goals you have for your dogs and yourself and ignore a lot of the rest. The search function is very valuable for almost any question you have.

As far as another forum, I like gsdworld.net. 100% GSD, 100% of the time. If you are not serious, you get booted pretty quick. It's geared a little more towards show folks.

If you are more into working dogs, then workingdogforum.com is good. They do have a resident a**hole.

I don't know why someone shot you down instead of helping, I wasn't there I don't think.
Some folks can be helped, others cannot.
This message board is more than just a hand full of people, you can't base the whole board on these few people who you say shot you down.
Maybe they had reason, again I don't know, depends on who it was.

It's not perfect but I like it just the way it is.   
It grows on you,
then it sorta festers and turns into a boil,
you lance that, cover it with a band aid, and grow a new one.
like spring time, everything starts the cycle once more.

don't take any of it too seriously, and always get a second opinion....lol
