A CONFORMATION TEST in GSD WORKING TRIALS - REQUIRED by Videx on 23 January 2009 - 19:01 |

I live in the UK, I choose to breed to the GSD Breed Standard, and I choose to look to the German Sieger Show to illustrate that standard. I do not have to qualify any of my dogs under SV qualifications. I breed under the RULES & REGULATIONS of the Kennel Club. I trust the above comment can be understood by some of you! |
So please, before you try to condemn anyone else with regards to the SV, or dare to suggest they are doing anything that could hurt the organization, stop being such a hypocrite and clean your own house. Until then you have no credibility whatsoever. Talk about "selective memory".

"we all understand what the RSV2000 stands for"
I don't. Can you please explain for me and others like me? I'm not sure what the discussion is about.
Thanks for any help.

Good one, Sue! Gustav, Correct, as usual! I don't think it was only Sweden that for years had an embargo on dog imports, cracked down, and lowered dysplasia rates to what, SINGLE digit percentages? It was all of Scandinavia, wasn't it?
Not whole scandinavia I believe, but there have been a long embargo on dog imports in sweden due to rabies-concern, think there are som different rules nowadays. Single digits for dysplaisa isn´t the case for the whole population, but certain breeders, and compared to germany the dysplaisa level is lower for dogs with a a couple of generations of dogs breed here in general. What makes sweden a bit unique when it comes to reaserach and testing of health and mentality is that the government had a large breedingprogram for many years for army/Police-GSDs, the largets kennel in the world I believe it was. From there much reaserach and discoveries was made, they actually managed to lower the dysplaisa level around 40% to under 10% in under 10 years time, in the dogs produced from there.
I´m not sure what type of test this new club is going to have, I know rasier tested his own dog and is pretty wellinformed about the testing system here, if they will do it the exact same way or with their own version I don´t know about, it sounds like something similar when reading the RSV 2000 website.
