Too funny.

Kyle: "Limited registration is bogus. Unless the pup or dog has a physical fault, not for breeding. I have yet to import a pup or dog to the USA on limited registration. Different pricing for males, female and colors is completely bogus as well. This is such a USA thing. In my opinion it has more to do with economics and control than breed quality and population control. Sell the dog unencumbered. Enough of the self righteous crap."
........It's all about control no matter how you spin it. Sell the pups at one price. Give full registration. You can screen buyers anyway you want.
.......And I will continue to import dogs with full registrations. I would prefer to spend my money in the USA but I am not going to jump through hoops to satisfy someones ego.
As a responsible owner, I am 100% with Kyle on this......could not have said this better ! As stated earlier, I walk away without a backward glance if anyone even breathes "limited" to me. Not a single dog of mine are "inferior dogs" because I walked away from the "limited" folks.

Do you health test and title your dogs before breeding them?
If so, what does it matter if that is the breeder's requirements to lift to full if you are doing it anyway?
Just trying to get all points of view, even though I have made my decision in regards to my litter.

I personally don't like strings attached. In any way, shape or form. Others may have a different perspective.

If you are health testing and titling dog anyway for your program, I don't see why there is any reason for concern for LR. The dog isn't any less yours because of it.
You wouldn't be upset if someone was breeding one of your dogs with no proof of workability, no health testing, and possibly a health issue that was never caught?
Thanks for adding in your opinion!

A response to Susie's question:
In the UK we do not have "limited registrations";
it's my impression that if we did have, this would
stay in the control of our KC, rather than individual
breeders, anyway.
But we do have a lot of breeders (all breeds), though
far from all of them, who operate the same principle
described on this thred, of charging lower prices for
puppies that are already obviously not going to place
highly in Showing, and a higher rate for 'Show potential'
puppies. The same caveats apply: some breeders do
this to try to ensure any breeding of stock produced by
them stays on the good, healthy lines they have worked
to produce, but also some just use the two-tier pricing
structure to make additional money.
But then, we also have breeders who - while appearing
to charge the same for all their pups, by keeping exact
amounts out of adverts, - decide the price of a pup on the
day by looking at how expensive the model of car is that
the purchaser turns up in !
On the other hand I've also known breeders sell a good 'un
at a lower price to someone they know will really do their
best by the dog, including actually Showing it. Even where
this may involve them in extra expense by assisting the buyer
to get the dog shown.

I just hope the breeders are not mad at me for buying the picks and never breeding. :(
