But then there was some controversy about this topic as well from board members. I just hope it geared to shut down puppy mills, pet stores selling puppies, and breeders who breed for quanity.

I know this will most likely end up drawing our local anti-Semite from under its bridge, but I think this is something that we should think about when we start pushing for more legislation on pets.

First they came for the Communists,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Communist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I wasn’t a Jew.
Then they came for the Catholics,
and I didn’t speak up,
because I was a Protestant.

LOL! But it is synonymous with 2 or 3 or 4. For goodness' sake! 2, 3 or 4 MEANS 2 OR 3 OR 4. If you MEANT 4, then SAY 4, but don't say 2 or.... and pretend that it doesn't mean what it does.
a rich bitch churning out pups in Bevery Hills?
You are beneath contempt.
I notice that you did not answer my question to you. Is that because you do not know any of these breeders and are merely spouting hypotheticals, or did you miss that in your reading of the post? I think I know the answer, given your response, but please be specific.
Oh, my, honey, you're out of your league: I didn't answer the question because I knew you'd decide to take it as an insult. No, unlike you apparently do, I do not know any of these scum breeders. I have heard of them, but unlike you, they are not people with whom I associate. I stay far away from them.
I do, however, know dedicated, talented hard-working dog breeders, who don't, but certainly could if they wanted to, have 2 OR 3 OR (gasp!) 4 litters if they wanted. These are good people, not a "rich bitch" as you jealously snarl They happen to be (unlike myself) people of wealth, and (like myself) they happen to love good dogs. You in your own words just assumed that someone with money must be "a rich bitch...in Beverly Hills." You couldn't be more wrong. Your cur-dog snapping in your posts reveals much more about you than you realize. Your prejudices and pettiness are showing.
Like a fine GSD doesn't deign to notice a lesser dog, I no longer deign to notice you. You simply are not worth any notice at all.
(Have fun frothing at the mouth! and type fast - you'll be very entertaining to the other readers).

You have a very valid point. I agree. However, at this point, the mass-breeders must be stopped and this ugly legislation seems to be the only thing likely to do so. Certainly, "peer pressure" has no effect. You know the breeder I have obliquely referenced (and referenced on another thread today). That hasn't been affected by anything else.
What would you suggest? ( and make it quick--I am calling my state senator who is apparently behind this legislation here tonight).

Would suggest that you look very closely why people continue to buy dogs from bad breeders. I believe the answer is that many good breeders sell their puppies for too much money and they are a royal pain in the ass to deal with.
I am a dog trainer in Los Angeles. Ya’ know the place with all those rich bitches. 100% of my business is referrals from vets and prior clients and they mainly send me large dogs. A huge chunk of my clients have GSDs and I always ask them where they got their dog. When I hear that they got the dog at pet store or bad breeder I ask them why. And almost to a person they all say that the good breeders were a pain in the ass to deal with, they got sick of the bullshit and picked up the local paper or went to the mall. They don’t want to deal with background checks, contracts, home inspections. They just want to get a puppy. And they don’t want to get another mortgage to do it. Even when I find a GSD for a client I won’t deal with breeders in the US anymore. It’s much easier for me to bypass the crap and import a dog. All I have to do is make a few calls or emails watch some videos and pick up the dog at the airport.
