the thing i don't get is if this was your car the police would have acted asap so why are they not act immediately to return your dog to you. plus given that greta is a living thing makes it even more paramount that she be returned home. the 'robber' is the one who should be forced to prove that she had rights to the dog not you. this just sounds ass backward.  greta is your dog and should be with you until proved otherwise.  why aren't the police protecting your rights and why are they allowing this woman to act like a thug? 

it just sounds terrible wrong for your dog not to be home.  the dog should be living in your home and the breeder needs to take any compliant she may have first to you then to the courts if she gets no satifaction -  i'm so sorry you are having to deal with this but sounds like you need to demand that the police protect your rights as this dogs owner.  the dog was removed illegally and the police need to acknowledge that and rectify it.  that's their job isn't it?

We meet with the prosecutor of Monday.  Hope to get more from him.

Tell the DA and the police you know where the dog is and you want a police escort to go pick her up..THEY  cannot deny you that right..the dog was stolen out of your home with your husband and I , assume you too.  THe police dept should treat this just like a car, a child, or a suitcase of money.  YOu know where it is, as DA to sent the pd to get it.

Kerschberger is right she is a whale-I hope you get Greta back- I did more investigation and it looks like she is losing her house in IL very soon- Someone sent me an article that it is getting foreclosed on December 17th! But that does not stop her from doing the same thing in Texas-SPREAD THE WORD GET HER OUTTA HERE! LET'S HELP GET GRETA BACK AND SHUT HER DOWN-SHE IS A PIG! HOW COULD SHE ACTUALLY THINK SHE COULD REINVENT HERSELF OUT HERE! I HEARD SHE IS ALREADY STARTING OUT HERE-SHE IS BEING SUED LEFT AND RIGHT FOR PEOPLE SHE HAS NOT PAID HERE EITHER-HOW DOES SHE GET AWAY WITH THIS? I am working on it.  Unfortunately, the law seems to favor the guilty.  She has been sued down here and one judgement has been awarded.  Another larger one is in the system which will most likely be awarded.  Plan on getting our Greta back soon. 

it makes me really mad and very sad that the police are sitting back and allowing a living animal to be taken from her home and kept without the owners' permission.  why can't they simply bring her home? the police do have the power to return stolen property so why don't they?  how are they justifying their inaction of returning your dog?  what is the legal reasoning they are using which prevents them from returning your stolen dog? 

have they at least checked on greta's well-being and given you updates?

you said greta is use to living in the house, is she now living outside in a kennel if so how is she handling the weather change? 

is she being treated humanely or is she being neglected or abused? can the police check on this?

it's just beyond me that someone can steal something from you, the police know about it, are given prove of ownership yet the thief gets to keep what she stole - i just can't wrap my mind around this.

the police need to do something to ensure the location and condition of the dog because this dog could be out of the state by now. from what others are saying about this person it sounds like anything is possible she clearly has no moral compass. so one last question:

are they at least keeping tabs on the location of the dog?

Reply to JustCurious.  I have learned so much about what the law will and will not do for you.  What I have found out so far is you must do for yourself.  The squeaky wheel thing.  I believe with all my heart that Greta will be returned to us but only because we will exhaust every legal means possible.  The police have so many complaints to follow up on they put them in a priority order.  Greta is NOT on the top of their list.  Our case has been forwarded to the Prosecutor which is a good sign but unless we go see the Prosecutor he will not just call us.  I do have animal control checking on the condition of all dogs in the defendants care.  This is the best I can do at this time.  If there are any attorney's on this board who can tell me what else I can do I would appreciate it.

Karama, do not get discouraged-the police have definite priorities as far as ongoing investigations, murders, rapes, robberies, etc.. This is a very new case for them, and as you said it is low on their list of priorities. You are doing the correct things here-investigating the proper course of legal action you can take to satisfy the alleged criminal and civil matters. That is an educational subject that fortunately few of us ever have to learn.

Justice will prevail-it just takes a lot of effort on your part. It is never easy to be the complaintant-I found that out myself about one (1) year ago with a civil matter. I did prevail, but not until I personally took the issue past the court ruling. The complaintant must do ALL of the leg work in a civil suit and minor (by comparison to more serious and brutal physical crimes) criminal suit.

I agree that the most serious matter is the well-being of your dog as well as the other dogs who are on the premises of this person. Just like so many people here, I am very much a "dog" person and I know how I would feel about the matter. The one (1) thing I can advise is to not give in and give up. Even if this person was to suddnly bring your dog back to you and offer to "kiss and make up"-as hard as it would be to not take your dog back immediately you must see this to the end. And, I think those of us who know well this person's modus operandi know that this scenario will not happen.

Keep the faith-you will prevail.

I have another story about this Whale's personality.  When she moved to TX in Feb of 07 she needed help moving some 15+ dogs and 3 horses.   So she enlisted two people, one from California who has a dog of hers and one from the TX area nearby where she moved to who's mother and she herself have a dog from the whale.  The CA man flew in and the TX woman drove up to Illinois.  The two were bossed around for several days by Cindy the Whale Hiemenz, and did all of the work loading furniture, dogs and horses and then the marathon to Luling TX ensued.   On the last day of loading furniture etc in Illinois the woman from TX already had enough of the Whale's sjenenigans and this was the last thing she was going to do for her, ever.  (she had visited Cindy before and had been put to work in the kennels... and this was supposed to be a vacation...) 

Cindy began bossing them around again and the man from CA got into it with Cindy, and the whale THREW him of her property in Illinois without transportation, no cell phone and the clothes on his back!!!  He had no means of contacting his wife in CA and had to apparantly walk till he finally got to some place who let him call his wife. 

The lady from TX stuck around until they got to TX and then she took off asap to go home.  She contacted me at some point soon after this incident apologizing for her behavior and attacks on me on Ripoffreport.com fed to her by Cindy. 

She finally realized whom cindy the whale really was.   She still is today afraid to put anything in writing, because she is afraid of the Whale.  She need not be afraid any longer as we know the whale is broke and I can't wait one day to see her go to prison for all the fraud she committed. 

The insanity is that she knows she is broke and then to be as calis and go ROB someone of their dog and knowing you need to feed this animal too is just beyond reason.  It means she is really a drop away from the bucket running over.
