We would love to go thru with the surgery but we don't have any money for it not even a little bit so it seems that we don't really have an option of what we can do.

Didn't have time on my way to work to read these carefully, but here are 2 lists of organizations that help pay vet expenses for those who cannot afford them. Good luck!

Thank you for those links I have been looking through them and applied for one. The specialist we saw says this is an elective procedure and some of the organizations say they don't help with elective procedures so it limits what all we can apply for.

Elective? As in, an alternative to BLINDNESS??? I would apply for anything- the worst they can say is no. I'm sure we're not the only ones to see this as non-elective and quite necessary for this poor dog!

If the worst comes to pass, don't feel sorry for the dog. He will adjust and you will be surprised at what he is able to do without sight. Dogs use their noses more than their eyes. I've personally been around a blind dog that once she knew where things were, you would not know she was blind. You will not want to move things around though, that would be cruel. Oakley was running thru the house pell mell and I got in the way and she plowed into me. My fault, not her's. I hadn't been in that spot, nor was I speaking and she was busy running with a sighted dog at the time. Accidents like that will happen but you will be surprised how well adjusted a blind dog is. They don't know they have a handicap. Check out Oakley's story. It's worth the read.

Ill look into the story. Thank you for your imput. Its always nice to read messages thats about its fine if he goes blind and it turns out okay. It makes you feel that no mater witch outcome Kinko has in store for his eyes, he will be okay.

Thank you.
