Misbeeb
The breed council have NO interest in the mental state of our breed if you remember from a previous thread i proposed a VERY SIMPLE test it was met wit TO DIFFICULT FOR THE BC rep, if that is to difficult we have NO HOPE the BC have done very little in a very LONG time

I think the BC try to be practicle, Reason. It's not a task for the feint hearted... getting it right, that is! If you make it too hard... the majority will not do it. If it's too easy... what's the point?
If I could zap my magic wand... I think I'd get rid of the KC, because they're commitment is to making money. However, I have no idea who should run the show!

So you thought my working aptitude test was to difficult!

as i said the definition of a roach back is when the back is higher than the withers fact and most dogs (gsd) standing foursquare do not have a roach back at least the ones i have seen dont

That's not what I said... but do carry on with your marketing project!

Hold on longcoats can come as the result of 2 short coats and I know that many TOP kennels get longcoats on occasion and they are registered. The longcoat is also going to become acceptible in Germany again. (Yes I'm referring to the one with undercoat). I have also heard of people getting liver's as the result of breeding good lines - they also got registered. I'd like to see top kennels not wanting to get them registered as they would lose good money. Also some of the nicest short coats have come as a result of the breeding of long coats to short.

"Pod. the back (between the withers and the croup) should be straight. Not level, straight."
That's correct Missbeeb. Far too many dogs are not straight but roached, and far too many have excessively slope. It should be slight.

We'll have to disagree on that then Jim. The roach refers to the back not the topline.

can you tell me when i mentioned topline i only spoke about the back and will say again a roach back is when the back is higher than the wither it fails me what part of this you do not understand the back between withers and croup.

Hope that worked! I don't suppose that anyone will disagree that this fish has a roach back and topline. Now imagine this fish swimming uphill steeply, enough so that it's eh ....withers :-) are above the highest point of the roach.
Does it still have a roach back?
