Lady Frost, this is my front door view, see the wind blow! My mailbox is there ... somewhere! Our neighbors are already busy with their John Deer's. My DH wants to conserve energy... his... because the winds aren't done yet.

This Junco is like a living ornament, along with the sparrows and titmice and looking for a place to ride out the storm.

Mojo, staying warm just waiting for us to say "when", he's been outside already, and back a few times.

And thanks, we had a wonderful Christmas, I hope you and everyone here had a great holiday, too.

Wow, YR! That is amazing! Here I have been begging my husband to move us to Texas to avoid the cold and snow! LOL....guess it might not be the escape I seek. However, I must admit that your picture has a peaceful quality to the scene. Renee

Well we only got about 8" of snow...but that WIND!!! OMG...I left work about 11:45pm, & there was maybe 2" where I work, so I thought, no problem.....& started my 1 hour commute north. Well, by the time I got back up into the hills near my place, I was driving in white out conditions. My old Jimmy was having no difficulty with the 1 to 2 ' drifts, 'cause the snow was very fluffy, but I could not see where the road was. Nearly hit a neighbor's barn, as I had wandered off the little state road we live along. Usually you can aim for the reflective plow markers, but I couldn't even see them. I just kept creeping along, finally made it home all in one piece....dogs LOVED it....& I felt like a rock star the next day, when I managed to back right back up my own tire tracks the next day, LMAO! I guess I'm easily impressed!jackie harris

Jackie......29 inches? Our town would die.  We get two inches and everyone freaks out. We don't have the equipment to handle something like 29 inches. I think we have two salt trucks for the entire county and only one works lol. We already got a good number of inches this year, but I'm a summer person and I'll be so glad when we get back to the warm months.  In middle TN there really aren't but about 2 and 1/2 somewhat "cold months" anyway.

I'm pretty sure we got somewhere up to 20". It is getting softer too, perfect for snowballs and fort building. The wind had sifted the snow so much earlier there were spots it held Mojo's weight, and then oomph! a paw would slip through so he'd be three paws on top of the snow and one paw sunk into the snow.

LF and YR, thanks for your nice words about Mojo. Here he is "helping" with the dig out. My son read what you wrote and said, "She's right! He is a talker! How did she know!"  I know he understands every word we utter, too.

Mojo is a handsome devil Beetree.

Looks like you got more snow than we did, and they were predicting 1 to 2 feet here. Hard to tell how much we got, it blew around so much
