Wow. I would not go for the Service Dog thing unless you truly NEED a service dog. That is a disservice to all the people who require service dogs and dogs that truly serve them.
I rented years ago and my landlord could not let my dog be there when I was not so weekdays when I was at work, she lived with my parents. Weekends she was with me. My landlord loved her (everyone did.. really.. she was such a good dog). It was his insurance company that was the issue. He allowed my 4 cats (I paid him extra) and he allowed the neighbor upstairs with the Pug and cats. His insurance would not allow my dog.
