Kalibeck

So sorry for your loss. I lost my best friend Hidy when she was 16. Blind & cranky towards the end of her life, she nonetheless would find me, where ever I was in the house, & locate her little self so she could 'watch' me. As a kitten she would sleep next to my head & purr me to sleep, somehow aware that even as a grown woman & single parent, I was still afraid, alone, at night. God bless our fuzzy little friends, they take care of us as much as we care for them, maybe more. I still miss her terribly. Much as I love my GSDs, that little 8 lb fuzzball was so special. One look from her sent each of my big tough dogs slinking away, maybe 'cause mom had her back. It's hard to type through the tears. Rest in Peace Ford, find my Hidy & tell her I miss her. Hugs to you, RHLAR! jackie harris

Dog people vs cat people. I have never understood that. My first pet was cat. I still keep her in my heart. That where I keep them all; cats, dogs, birds, white mouse, lizard, turtle,  .... and they are always happy, aways there,....
In time your sadness will turn into great memories for you too. Let that be your comfort.
He is OK now.

I never thought that I was a cat person until, one day 16 years ago, a stray kitten found it's way into my heart.

I am sorry for your loss.

RLHAR

Thank you, Thank you everybody not only for your condolences but also for sharing your special feline friends.  Hans, I agree that I don't get cat vs dog, they can each be a wonderful furry friend to us and you're right, every animal in our life deserves their own special spot in our hearts.

Yes Beetree he was on thyroid medication and I suspect something like what you experienced is what happened, because there was absolutely no warning.  He was his usual, mouthy, hungry loving self up until that moment and once it happened there was nothing to be done and then he was gone, so very quick.

I took him to the vet today to get cremated.  I keep the ashes of my pets and plant little teacup rose bushes in their memories. The house is so quiet today, he was quite the talker and I keep looking around to find him fussing at me to make a lap.

Anyway, thank you again everyone for your kindness and understanding.

I never had cats.  Love to own one though if only I know how to keep the peace with the dogs in the house.  Losing a pet of any kind is a painful and sad experience but the joy they partake in our lives is priceless.

Big hugs RLHAR.  RIP Ford x.

Sorry to hear that. My cat died in a similar way.He was fine one minute then I went to vacume with a real quiet one and he started to convulse.I was in tears!! It was late in the day and no vet was open and the emergencey hadn't opened  yet.My landlord said by the time i got there they would be open so I drove down the road and I heard him give his last breath. I turned around barely able to drive cause i couldn't see cause the tears. My landlords dug a grave in the back of the place where there was a little garden. He was the best cat i have had.He would snuggle up with the dogs and would come when called like a dog. He was a great cat. I am sorry for you loss. He was a lucky cat to have you as you were to have him.
It's is always sad to loose a loved companion.
