That is the perfect discription of my boy 'GOOFY' he just loves to be with his people and is always pushing for attention and if we are not in the mood or too busy to play he always does something funny to get us to take notice.

all dogs have their own personalities and such, but, if i could only have one, i'd have a male. in my life, all the males have been closer to me, while the females have been more independent. i like having both though, the best of both worlds.

Overall, I prefer females. They are easier to train, more intune and sensitive to their handler, and usually quicker to alert than a male.
With that said, if I am wanting to win major events or have a dog in the rear of my patrol car, it would be a male.

At one time, I'd have said a male...
Then, in 2007 I got a bitch puppy and my views changed...

My heart dogs have been:
Shiloh.... Male
Wizard... Male
Peregrine... Male
Fawn.... female
Misty... female
Guess it just depends on the spirit inside the dog and where my head/heart is at that time.
My next dog will be a male again I expect... but ya never know what twists happen. Could be there won't be a male from that litter, and a female will steal my heart.

I would never have a female dog by choice as they lack the stature and beauty of a male's larger more prominent features. Being familiar with the striking appearance of my male GSD who is slightly over the maximum height for the breed standards and consequently is a large dog, to see a female GSD as silly as it may sound in my eyes, doesn't portray what I consider as the finest example of the breed visually, and yet to have a female GSD really catch my eye as a male does.

Females are theway to go.

Funny, I've changed over the years. I only had females in the past but the last three have been males. I went to a particular breeder because they had black females, the sable male stole my heart. I loved the relationship we had, silly, fun, playful. Males really do seem to have more of a sense of humor, much sillier than females. Drake came right when Link died so he was my baby boy, I know I did baby him but also made him listen. He's special to me, a real friend. I know I'd love a female and they are more in tune, but I really need some fun in my life right now. Love those silly boys!
