This could become something very big very quickly. or could just go away. Are you willing to take the chance? Take the pup to the vet for a check-up.

If your going to own animals this is part of the experience. You must use your own judgement and try not to get in a panic if your not sure. You can't ask others to decide for you. When in doubt you must seek help from someone who can actually see whats going on and if that means going to the vet then do it.
Its not unlike raising your own children, I have they grey hairs to prove it.....:)

BAD FOOD,
I know what you meant, Sitasmom, but I just got this mental flash of a big Mexican or Italian meal causing inabilty to walk without pain. Been there/done that.

Suddenly being lethargic would worry me much more then the limping.
Even on the perfect diet a pup can get pano.

Good for him, watch him. Make sure he doens't get into the trash, or eat too fast or too much.
If he goes through another episode of lathargy(sp?) and limping, take him to the vet immediately.
Once is a fluke, twice is an issue.
Yes I've eaten so much I wanted to crawl into a dark place and sleep or die which ever came first! Usually Italian food....
Sometimes the bacteria in spoiled foods can cause joint pain.
