Any news?

Javier was robbed!! The stadium went quiet when he rounded blind four, as EVERYONE wanted to check him out. The crowd cheered oon his instanteous call out, again on the escape, then attack on the handler. He bumped the sleeve once in the blind. That is the only point loss anyone saw, AFAIK. Ended up with 94 pts in protection. The judge was booed. Because there is NO translation of the critique (!!!!!!????), we don't know why. The Germans know, but the rest of us... Darthez does protection Saturday morning. T and Eric did protection at 4:39-5. Had to leave, so I cannot report the score. Blanka v Haus Moon, on Belgian team, was DQ'd . She came off the sleeve, then left the helper. Ivan B got robbed, too. 80 pts in protection. Again, we don't know why.

As an aside, the oddest questions I have been asked, including by a couple top competitors: " Who the ___ is Ratpackking" and "Who is Pat Relton?"

I think North America is the only place in the world where citizens generally don't boo judges' scores they don't agree with. I have an old BSP tape from the late 80's that clearly shows people throwing food and other unrecognizable items at a judge from the grand stands, and another one from the next year with a net between the crowd and the floor of the stadium. LOL

I don't even want to think how Blanka's handler must have felt when the female came off the sleeve, left the helper in a World Championship, poor soul.

Mystere, thank you. What a pity though!

BoyDerDog, do you know anything about Dack`s protection? I was impressed by the video. Thank you!

There are some very, very nice bitches in this competiton: Happi on the Austrian team, and Hella are two that stand out. Might be worth doing a search on the database for their peds.

It seems strange that the organizers of such an event should think they do not need interpeters, and that is terribly unfair to competitors who cannot understand the language

As regards to booing a Judge, i have never heard or seen it happen over here,

the people do not always agree with what they see, but the audience are not in the postition to see what really happens in that split second a dog does this or that as the judge is

And the Judges decision has to be accepted, i expect they may make a few mistakes but so then will the helpers in protection it is only human with a competition of this size

Steve, Frankly, the lack of translation, leading to a lack of any understanding of the judges's decision fairly creates a situation where the judge would be booed. Maybe if we knew what his reasoning, his decision would be a bit easier to take. The lack of translation is apparently the decision of one man, who does not, apparently, realize that Germany lost the war...twice.

HI there- its early and Im pulling this from memory so there may be some mistakes and I am positive that I missed some american's events yesterday.

Charlie Meszaros and Nike - 99 in tracking , 93 protection, obedience coming on Sunday - currently 1st place going into Saturday. I believe the highest protection score so far is 94 - the german lady who won the BSP this year got 94.

Charlie-Nike are tied with Wallace Payne's last competition dog (sold to S. Korean handler competiting here) for high tracking - 99

Debbie Z-Jai got a 91 in protection yesterday, 92 obedience

T floyd-Karlo got 96 in tracking yesterday, 92 protection

James Honda-Bordemere - 89 obedience -not sure if he had an event yesterday.

E. Eisenberg-Buddy got 96 in tracking, 86 protection

I will take some notes this morning and give another update later on.

The prospects for the USA bringing it home are looking pretty good (scared to say more 'lest I jinx!)

Most of the americans tracked yesterday afternoon around 2 pm- it was hot, dry, and windy. The dogs worked so well...it was very impresive.

Go Charlie and Nike!!

So far, Michaela is in first place with 285!

Karloy will need a 94 or better in obedience to beat her.

This Dutch website seems to be quicker in putting up results: www.gsdchain.nl/WUSV2008Lijstdeelnemers.htm
