AMEN   On that Do right.

Well I have shown and when I see a dog being examined and refuses to be touched , mouth opened even by the owner, and trys to bite the judge STILL place 1st  on several different counts you call it as is " POLITICS". Hell I even saw a guy walk up to the Judge and say and I quote word for word " Do you remember me? I bought this puppy from you three years ago. How does he look? "

Lord and behold HE won first place (no real surprise, I knew at that point I was showing just for the fun and the experience) You can complain all you want, here is what it will get you - Judges keeping track of your dogs and you will never place. Sad but true. We keep track of the Judges we like and they keep track of the people who complain.

Attention D.H The problem that i have with the judging is that the dog in question received his Lifetime breed survey in Germany only 3  months ago and was given a KKL 1. There is a problem on one end or the other. Either he should not have been given a KKL 1 in Germany or should have been allowed to be shown. Furthermore there were 3 American/Canadian owned Dogs dismissed from the ring and a fourth dog which was German owned also dismissed. As soon as he was dismissed the German owner ran into the ring and after a 5 minute discusiion was readmitted. Lets be Fair either they are all dismissed or none should be dismissed. What was said in those 5 minutes to make the dog shrink if anyone knows please tell me as i need to drop a couple of pounds and could use that amazing talk. In regards to fairness the rules for one should apply to all period they cannot be applied wherever one likes. When it is it brings into question the legitimacy of the entire process. I also have spoken to schutzhund u.s.a and the dog which bit the helper should have been disqualified and would have been in my opinion if not for who the handler was. Again the only thing that Top Dog and others are asking for is that the rules be administered fairly to all.

D.H in further reviewing your posts i feel that the events which occured at the Canadian Sieger Show were not rules that the judge can follow at his discretion. (1) The dog bit the helper in the stick hand. The rule says that if the dog attempots to harm the helper in anyway after being outed the dog is Disqualified. The dog did this not once but twice first on the attack into blind and also on the courage test. This dog was not disqualified and is now a VA rated male???? Secondly in regards to being oversized if the dog is oversized throw them out but throw them all out do not check the owners Nationality and let that determine whether the dog is in or out. Once again these are rules written in Black & White and need to be enforced equally for all for this sport to grow and prosper.

Michael 10,

1)  Since there were only 3 dogs that went VA, and to not discredit the 2 dogs that did not bite the helper (but the sleeve), which dog bit the helper?  2)  Does the Canadian Sigershow follow the same rules as the USCA?  What governing body rules at the Canadian Siegershow?  This is very unclear to me.

Looking over the list of entries, there were not so many dogs entered and I would personally be surprised if any judge tried to reduce any viable entry if it had done OK on the bitework and had a breed survey, especially one for life.  I just don't get the whole matter.  I mean most of the clubs want as many entries as possible as it would encourage more participation in the following year.

DH, I can't believe your questioning my sportsmanship. When you your self have complained about some similar things and certain people.and judging. My whole point is , if these dogs were over size Sunday, then why were they not over sized when they were kord in Germany, or at the German sieger show, and USA sieger show, or for that matter any other show that they were shown at. And some other dogs in the show that placed high were as big or bigger. More then anything else , I was completely embarassed by the blatent inconsistancy in comparing the heights of these dogs.DH tell me please , What about the dog ,that was probably bigger then all the other dogs who the judge dismissed because he measuerd 68cm, then the German owner ran into the ring and had the judge remeasure him. After a 5 min conversation this dog miraculously shrunk to the right size.MMMMMMM , Maybe the dog was actually Chris Angel the magician in disguise. Please tell me you didn't see that happen. Why then couldn't I and the others do the same.

Look , I don't know if my male was in the ring thru out the judging where he might have ended up. But I do know he has placed high in other shows where his size wasn't a problem then. USA sieger show 04, VP1  I think out of 48 or so males. SG 3 05 at PA siger show Same size as Sunday, V-rated in Germany. Another male at the show was said to be to big,he finished V49 at the German sieger show 2005,While the VA-1 dog Sunday went V 63 2005 same show. Now I'm not saying the V49 dog is better then the V63 ,or that the V63 dog is better,  maybe this day he was. But why wasn't his hight a problem then.  DH you also said that the judge has his own opinion, and that everyone interprets the breed standard different. Then why have a Kor report if it's contents are not the truth. Can't you understand, By this judge telling me and the others that are dogs are to big ,he's discrediting the SV and the judge that gave these males there koring. Truth or False! The kor report is about facts , not about one judges interpretaion of those facts. Is the kor paper that it's written on Blue or pink, Your saying That if I interpret that it's pink, then it must be pink.I don't think so.  Can a almost 4 year old dog have a 1 or 2 cm growth spert.  Now I never ever measured my dog. I never thought I needed to because his hieght was never and issue. But I will measure him this weekend.

Now just to make these measurings the judges do fare , why not get a sturdy piece of plywood and stand the dogs on that, instead of uneven ground. Then know one can bitch fare or not.  DH , stop worring about what might happen or who you might piss off. speak up and don't take it.Other wise you may end up just a puppet on a string. To many people just let it be. Not me . I won't bend over and walk in a room backwards And holding my angels for no one, ever. I won't become a pimp.

TOP DOG IS 100% ON POINT.

THESE CLUBS SPEND ALL THIS MONEY BRINGING THESE JUDGES IN FROM GERMANY THEY CAN’T AFFORD $5.00 FOR A SHEET OF PLY-WOOD. GET REAL.

WHERE ARE THE CLUB OFFICIALS AND HOW COME THEY LET THESE THINGS GO ON . IF THE SV SETS THE RULES THESE CLUBS MUST MAKE SURE THAT NO B.S. IS GOING ON .

IS IT THAT WE DON’T WANT TO MAKE WAVES, AND IF WE DO THEN THE GERMANS WON’T COME TO OUR SHOWS, WELL THEN I SAY STAY HOME.

IF WE HERE IN AMERICA SUPPORT OUR SHOWS WEEK IN AND WEEK OUT THEN WE ALL HAVE TO FOLLOW THE RULES AND NO BACK ROOM BS.

WHY ARE NOT MORE AMERICANS JUDGING OUR SHOWS, IS IT BECAUSE THE GERMAN PEOPLE WILL NOT COME . TO BAD THEN.

EVEN AT THE LOCAL SHOWS, YOU HAVE A ENTRY DEADLINE. NO ENTRIES SHOULD BE TAKEN THE DAY OF THE SHOW. THAT IS WHY YOU USE THE WORD DEADLINE. IT MEANS THE END OF ENTRIES TAKEN AFTER 0/0/07.

EACH AND EVERY SHOW MUST START OUT WITH EVERYONE PLAYING WITH THE SAME SET OF RULES. AND IF THERE IS NOT A SHOW COMMITTEE TO HANDLE A PROBLEM THAT MAY COME UP THAT CLUB SHOW BE FINED FOR NOT FOLLOWING THE RULES.

ENFORCE THE RULES AND THERE WILL BE NO PROBLEMS. AND IF YOU DON’T KNOW THEM READ THEM.

AND STAND UP FOR WHAT YOU KNOW IS RIGHT. THAT IS THE ONLY WAY TO CHANGE THINGS.

LET THE USA, WDA AND THE SV YOUR FEELINGS ALSO. JUST DON’T STOP HERE.

Shepherd Woman

I entered a dog show in the beginning of July.  I knew darn well that I was screwed before I even got my self into it.  The other GSD's in the show were the property of the head of the organization.  As people watched these dogs run wildly around the ring and having to be corrected to behave themselves, the judge hardly gave mine a second look and off went the ribbons to the other!  I was told by a lot of people that I don't even know, that I should have known better even entering him, even though they thought he should have won, because I didn't have a chance from the get go.  I am pretty much set on not attending any more of these shows by the organization because I know darn well that I will be wasting my money and gas.  After each show, I asked each judge what they did or didn't like about him.  All I got as far as I am concerned was the run around and very lame excuses.   I will keep my eyes open for furture shows with judges that I know have seen my boy before and liked him in one way or another.  He wouldn't be a champion as he is if not all liked him, lol.  I agree, it is all POLITICS!!!!!!!!!!!!
