Mystere, I'm ROTFLOL!

Glad to see you DO have a sense of humor!

If you want, I can spread the word on Tina's forum....

My main mission on this thread (and the reason I keep coming back to post in it) is to correct the misconceptions about this breed, due to the sliver breeders crossing Shilohs with everything from wolves to working line GSD's, and calling the resulting mixes purebred Shiloh Shepherds.  Unfortunately, the breeders who have broken with Tina outnumber the ISSR breeders, and they are giving the REAL Shiloh a bad name.

What's that? It has one ALREADY?

Oh, sorry, I was just anticipating your response to this post...

No, Sunny Jill, you are not dispelling any "misconceptions" at all. All you have done, repeatedly, is avoid and evade answering the isue YOU personally raised when you made the false claim that shilohs have been titled in schutzhund. Yes, you KEEP COMING BACK, but you also Keep avoiding the question. However, your refusal to answer has led to the adverse inference that the claim is simply false. Now, don't refer me to your bible, just answer the question...or go away, because we aint buyin' your Watchtower!!!

Mystere, you've already been given proof that the Shilohs of old could be trained as personal protection dogs. I've lost track of the number of times I've said that is no longer the case. Tina chose to go in a different direction with the breed. She has also refused to give details of the dogs she did title in Schutzhund and personal protection in the past. If you're so anxious for the details, do your own damn research. Here's a bit of help: if you follow this link, you will see a picture of a very young Tina Barber with George Theriot, the founder of NASA:

http://books.google.com/books?id=v3uFml6naYgC&pg=PA7&lpg=PA7&dq=shiloh+schutzhund&source=bl&ots=TZA4CBaOdI&sig=E8gZKZhF5d8zXL1LbU1YJr3YY7s&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=1&ct=result#PPA8,M1

It's on Page 8, in case you're having trouble finding it.

Some of the relevant details:

One day in Rochester, I met some friends of my father who had also come over to America from Germany. One of them, Nero, was running the first Schutzhund traiing academy, the first one in America in Palmyra, New York. He invited me to see his facility....

A wealthy man from Texas name Goerge Theriot got interested in the sport and came to visit my father's friends in Palmyra....He got a couple of dogs for himself, and he ended up being the founder of the North American Schutzhund Association....

In Europe I was watching my father train dogs even before I was five years old. At sixteen I degreed my first dog in Schutzhund. In the end I degreed fourteen dogs for George Theriot's NASA. It wasn't even official when some of my dogs were titled: tallies wern't being kept until 1971,  believe, and I began titleing unofficially in the fall of 1967. Betwen then and 1976 I titled fourteen dogs.

No, these dogs were NOT Shilohs, but this should at least prove Tina did title dogs in Schutzhund. This was before she started her own kennel. When she did start her kennel, the logo showed a dog biting a Schutzhund-type sleeve. Gee, ya think just maybe there was a REASON for that??

God, you're being an ass about this!

Oh my god, Sunsilver are you really that stupid or are you being obtuse on purpose?  WHERE IS THE PROOF???????  Just because you have your head up Tina's ass doesn't mean the rest of us fall for it.   Titles, complete names, dates, not some silly story.  You actually believe that because you see a picture she took with someone, and she tells you a VERY vague story about her childhood, this is somehow proof she titled and trained dogs in schutzhund?  Wow, there's a bridge for sale you might be interested in.  I bet she did go to a couple trials in the early days - sitting on the sidelines does not make you a trainer.  What a joke.

Good job making yourself out to be completely gullible, though. Enjoy your cult.

The bigotry, namecalling & uninformed attacks on the Shiloh breed are just unbelievable - you guys are being so incredibly childish you are not doing the German Shepherd any favors at all.  It's like a kids playground here where the bullies use the same tactics - run others down to try & make yourselves look bigger/better but all you succeed in doing is to look stupid. Yes this is a GSD forum & if you would stop this c**p & stick to promoting your own breed instead of running down other perfectly good breeds maybe others would not feel the need to defend themselves.  As I said before,  I was a GSD guy for years but hated what was happening to their conformation. IMO what the GSD breeders are doing to their lines is far worse than anything Ms Barber has done & I think you know it. Why else would you behave so aggressively? I am not a big fan of Ms Barber & am no sychophant but I am a total convert to the Shiloh so pass the coolade.

it's great that you found a breed you like, but why come here and try and defend a non-gsd breed and/or convert gsd owners/breeders?  seems like a real waste of time and energy. imo that best thing to do is enjoy your dogs, accept others have different tastes and opinions than you, and hang out with folks who support your prespective instead of folks whose perspectives are so contrary to your own - it's called conservation of energy.  best of luck with your dogs and have fun and be happy with your choices.

You know next to NOTHING about the Shiloh or Tina, yet you dare to say she's lying? Wow. Who made you God?

I stick by my friends, and believe in them.

Get a life for yourself, and stop running other people down!

I didnt come here to try & defend a non GSD breed - I came here because I am still interested in GSD's & only got involved in this discussion because of the mis-information being posted. I'm not trying to convert anyone - just trying to stop the BS. You've actually made my point for me - why waste time & energy knocking others when it would be better spent improving what's wrong in your own camp. Maybe then people would not feel the need to look elsewhere as I did.

And I wasnt knocking everyone here - just the ones who dont know how to have a civil discussion without resorting to childish attacks.
