The pregnant minor daughter is a family affair and has nothing to do with politics. Leave the daughter out of it. The children should be completely off-limits but desperate people do desperate things. It's pathetic.
My first husband got three D.U.I.'s while we were married and I held office. It wasn't a national (or even local) governmental office but it was political and involved children. I committed no crime. He did. We as a family payed dearly for it financially. I still held that office for three years until my eldest aged out of the organization. (Age of majority plus one year.)
She did not get the D.U.I.
This is about HER merits. Find me a perfect family in the political arena.
BTW...what is Tschau? Not familiar with that one.

Justlurkin, do you really think that the American public is going to ignore any of this? Dream on...........it's in the news and it will effect the Republican campaign. Hard to run on a platform based on family values (yes, that again) when you are a known adulterer, have so much money you don't even know how many homes you own, and your VP running mate has a pg 17 year old and a DH with a DUI history (and that's exactly how it will be perceived and perception is reality in the good old US of A). Don't we soon know by now that the media elects our officials? Just look at the photos they publish of these men and women. The one on this site of Obama makes him look smug and arrogant, most I've seen of McCain make him look old, sad and pathetic. And I won't even mention FOX news and their take on current events.
Tschau = a form of goodbye in German.

As I said previously, the kids and their failings should not be subject to attack but some of the related issues pertaining to the issue is legitimate discussion.
For example, Sarah Palin advocates abstinence as opposed to sexual education because she feels that the former is the moral way to go and the latteris a tacit encouragement of pre-marital sex. What any parent knows is that most single people - and especially teenagers - cannot realistically be expected to abstain.
As someone who used to admire McCain, I am stunned by the perfunctory way that he chose her. He allegedly met her for 15 minutes and then felt that she was the right person.

It truly is a media circus, Abhay. Looks like McCain will repent in leisure . Chalk up one for the Democrats this hour. I can't wait for Dubya's speech at the RNC. I assume he's giving one?
Please tell me your avatar is photoshopped!!!
Willie Nelson for President!!!!

Blitzen - I would hope that the American public doesn't ignore anything. I would hope that the American public would rise above the gossip of the media (and the sensationalism that goes with it) and concentrate on the merits of the candidate. I would hope that the American public had the intelligence to do that at minimum.
I would also hope that the American Public would remember Roger Clinton among others, I'm sure though none come to mind at the moment. Not sure what a bit of research would uncover. That might be a real eye opener.
It amazes me the number of liberals/democrats who preach tolerance and "take care of the lowly public" only to come out crying "foul" when a pregnant minor is involved -- and one who didn't choose abortion and isn't going on their "welfare" program to boot?
Thanks for the info on Tschau. I'll get with Gabby to ask her about the term. Not one I've heard before.

Maybe he's already senile!
It sure would have been a more interesting race if instead of Palin, he'd have chosen Condi Rice.
She I can envision across the table from Putin. Sarah? Not so much!

Hello everyone,
yet another heated topic. I love it! RPK who the heck cares if the lady from Alaska is a Christian? Just as we should not give a hoot which church Sen Obama attends or not. I s some one forgetting that America has a separation of chuch and state??? Peharps if George W. were able to put this very principle into practice these past eight years, better informed decisions may have been made.Guess it has been difficult for him considering his campaign warchest is full from $$$$$ from the 700 club and like christian groups. There always high upon their righteous horse shouting and inevitably end up in the press very shortly there after for the very things they were outraged about.Anyone recall President Clinton??,and his unfortunate situation? I believe Trace understands. The people of our great nation were set to start imoeach proceedings....Well,President Bush and Cheney have commited war crimes and everyone sits back.Christian lady V.P. more like another christian political hypocrit. I have no issue with what people do in their private lives, but please don't preach something totally different.
Trace is right, there was communication amongst local govt. but c'mon shock and awe bagdad and we can't get people out of the ninth district. As for forgetting about it, this is the problem we forget and history repeats.
