Yes Pilot was a sable, along with the Quino two very worthy Jupaala Champions.
I believe these two males went back to Ch Lauser / Alf, or both.
Lauser and Alf were the backbone of many great Uk breeding lines, many who still have them today..

Joyce, you remember all the "bits" I have doubts about... it's great, thanks!

joyce, you are right, Alf and Lauser were behind both Pilot and Quino, both having the same mother, Jupaala Swankie chick. You are also right when you say they are still influential, particularly in my own kennel as my sable puppy Jupaala Francesca goes back eight generations.

My Dad lived and worked at the Moncrief Kennels for years and I currently have one of the last Dunmonaidh's, his name is Beinn and he is 11 now. They wanted him to use as a stud dog when he was a puppy but his ear never went up so I took him and within 3 weeks the ear was fine, my gain their loss and shortly afterwards the kennels closed. I used to have his sister Yana as well but sadly she died when she was 5.... My dad also used to have Caia from the kennels whos brother Kim was there for a long time as well. He had Lochy and Cairnie as well... Amazing dogs were the Dunmonaidhs, big, hard but exceptionally loving Shepherds, a credit to the breed...... I wish i could lay my hands on Beinns pedigree for it had alot of the old names. Happy Days
