Abhey!!
I think this is important enough to warrant a thurough going over. Break out the caliper's and mic's, maybe a thermometer and a bathroom scale. I think an endurance test is also important considering the job she's applying for. I could drag this one out for day's...:0
That's a fine looking lady and I believe she's been a pretty good governor but I cant say I would want her for our president should anything happen to John.
Ringer or not? My vote is no.
I think it was a poor choice. That's all we are ever gonna get is poor choice's.
Brent.

I have to agree with Brent. McCain has failed at his first major decision as a potential president - the selection of a running mate.
My main misgiving about Obama was his thin resume and so I decided I would wait unti the debates to make a final decision. I am beyond astonished at McCain's choice of Palin when there were so many excellent Republican VP prospects. This has nothing to do with her daughter's pregancy - though it does bother me that she would agree to be nominated knowing full well that it would most likely come out and subject a seventeen year old to the national spotlight and the pressures that would entail.
What bothers me most is that a 72 year old who has had a bout with melanoma would make such a questionable decision in terms of selecting someone who clearly is not qualified to be president - at least at this time. It clearly shows poor judgement. Now there are indications that she was not vetted seriously before being selected and that McCain aides are now in Alaska trying to find out what else lurks in her past.
McCain's goal seems to have been to satisfy the base of the party and achieve a surprise element to the selection. He succeeded in both regards but at the expense of selecting someone who could move into the presidency at a moment's notice. So, IMO, he gets an F when it comes to selecting a well-qualified individual to be his VP.

Obama says he stands for change and elects a career politician & 5x Vietnam Deferrment recipient for a VP, who himself calls for a Draft.Biden: US will 'have to face' military draft dilemma (2005)

The United States will "have to face" a painful dilemma on restoring the military draft as rising casualties result in persistent shortfalls in US army recruitment, a top US senator warned. Joseph Biden, the top Democrat of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, made the prediction after new data released by the Pentagon showed the US Army failing to meet its recruitment targets for four straight months.
"We're going to have to face that question," Biden said on NBC's "Meet the Press" television show when asked if it was realistic to expect restoration of the draft.
"The truth of the matter is, it is going to become a subject, if, in fact, there's a 40 percent shortfall in recruitment. It's just a reality," he said.
The comment came after the Department of Defense announced Friday the army had missed its recruiting goal for May by 1,661 recruits, or 75 percent. Similar losses have been reported by army officials every month since February.

Meanwhile, Sarah Palin asks.... "What does a VP do to journalist Larry Kudlow?
"Kudlow: You have a legion of fans who want you to become Senator McCain’s vice-presidential candidate. In fact, on the world’s largest pay-to-play prediction market, betting parlor, called InTrade, you are in third place with a 20 percent support probability behind former Governor Romney and present Governor of Minnesota Pawlenty. Is this police flap, state investigation, going to disqualify you from becoming Senator McCain’s vice-presidential candidate?
Palin: Well it shouldn’t disqualify me from anything, including progressing the state’s agenda here towards more energy production so we can contribute more to the U.S. Nor should it dissuade any kind of agenda progress in any arena because again, I haven’t done anything wrong. And through an investigation of our lawmakers who are kind of looking at me as a target, we invite those questions so that we can truthfully answer the questions.
But as for that VP talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does everyday? I’m used to being very productive and working real hard in an administration. We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans and for the things that we’re trying to accomplish up here for the rest of the U.S., before I can even start addressing that question.'
Folks, we're doomed. There is no way out of this with this '2 party' paradigm. Buy canned goods & Ammo.

My pleased suspicion is that Mrs. Palin is already being groomed for Presidential Election 2012. Should the McCain.Palin ticket succeed, I think we will witness a dramatically more visible, actice VP role than ever before in the history of this country. This woman isn't a sit-on-the-sidelines kinda girl, but a very enrgetic hand's-on woman who won't take a distant back-seat to anyone. Wouldn't it be interesting to see a Hillary vs. Palin ticket in '12? Both would be stomping to win the MALE vote for the first time in history!
Just a few thoughts from the rim,

Trace755 for President!! Don't even care if Trace is a male or a female. Best damned posts I've read here since we started to talk about this election.
Ugly, I'm curious - how would you define your ideal candidate for the Presidency in terms of their ancestry?
by beetree on 02 September 2008 - 14:09
I had the same thought, that boy oh boy would the "Good Ole Boys" be having fits if McCain wins with Palin in the backseat. Wowie, come 2012 or even 2016. That, there, will be "the" history to be made.

I LOVE THIS COUNTRY. I CAN'T STAND THE POLITICAL FOOTBALL. LEFT-RIGHT OR CONSERVATIVE -LIBERAL BS. THAT'S IS WHAT IT IS BS... WE HAVE HUGE PROBLEMS IN THIS COUNTRY AND WE ARE NOT ADDRESSING THEM. BOTH PARTIES ARE MORE INTERESTED IN SCORING POINTS THAT ACTUALLY DOING ANYTHING. WHEN THEY SCREW UP WE SHOULD HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE.
NEITHER PARTY CAN CLAIM ANY MORAL SUPERIORITY.

Re : Mc Cain Running mate
I only have one question:
Would you let your dog drive your car based on his/her experience?
Guess, people do not realize what is at stake for this country.

They aren't forgotten trace755. That doesn't have anything to do with my response to your post.
Let's also not forget who was in power during the Clinton administration when everyone claims that times were good and it was such a good life. Let's also not forget who was in power during the Reagan and George H.W. administration when the left-wing clamors and bellows out of themselves claiming that is was such a horrible time and a horrible way of life.
This being "wartime" whatever party is in control is the "bad guy" to those who don't do their research.
