just a good example, sure looks a bit comical but they didn't shoot. there are some other excellent clips around if anyone wants to present good restraint of LEO.

I'm always left thinking that these little dogs are either very brave or very stupid!

Freaking pug! "I didn't choose pug life, pug life choose me!"

Lucky they didn't drop kick it back home.

Excellent response by the officers .. not a one even drew a weapon.  The pug or little dog was being brave but secretly glad the GSD was restrained.  Dogs like to screw with other dogs when they are behind a fence or restrained.  My dogs that know each other very well play that game all the time.  One day I opened the wrong gate and two of my big males who like to play that game were looking face to face suddenly .. they were not expecting that and they both had a look on their face like "what the hell is going on".  Before they could get started on each other I slammed the gate as I realized my mistake from their reaction and then they both were ready to fight ( onr has to wonder how much of that is posturing and how much is real).

Its NOT restraint, its LOGIC, something that escapes most people when they talk about police VS dogs in these forums. A 5 pound dog is not a threat, like a 5 year old child is not a threat, its funny at best, of course there are no guns involved. Indeed, if it was a bigger dog and it clearly showed hostile intentions toward the officers or the police K9, it would have been shot and rightly so. Its not an officer's intention to put himself into any more danger then he needs to daily nor to allow some irresponsible citizen's dog to attack his police dog, end of.
