Well today was my first UKC obedience trial. And i have to say i had a great time!
Dog Training Club of St Petersburg, Fl put on a really nice show.
We showed Rally first and i haven't practiced Rally in over 6 years. Went in cold for the hell of it.
My dog had a really great run, too bad her handler made a major mistake and cost her a Q. :( (Sorry Payne mommy will do better tomorrow. I promise) NQ'ed the run.
On the upside we did Novice A and got 2nd place and a 181 score. She heeled a little loose but other wise did pretty good for her first trial.
Fingers crossed for ribbons tomorrow.
Fry and Payne.

Congrats Fry (that was brave, but maybe it was going
cold turkey that made you make the mistake ?  Dog's
memory better than your own ? Tongue Smile )  Good luck tomorrow
(today, now !)

Today went better! Got 2nd place in rally and did not miss any signs. :D
Also got a nice 2nd place in Novice A with a 183.5 score and she looked smoother today. Judge is serious about positioning and scoring. So if we got past him i think other judges will be a lot easier to show under. ( I love the judges he's a great guy and is very serious about obedience and it shows. ) I think his scoring was very fair.
So Payne got 3 Q's and 3 2nd placements for the weekend. And 3 brand new stuffy toys to destroy. :D
I'll try and get some pix up soon.

Great !  Love her attention to you.

Er, what was that woman with the Sheltie doing,
wandering through the Ring while you were working
in it ?

The lady with the sheltie is my Honor dog. In UKC you have an Honor dog doing a long down just like IPO. While i'm heeling she's down. Then when i finish the heeling pattern the second time off lead she picks up her dog and they leave the ring so i can do the jump recall. When my turn is done my dog Honors for the next heeling dog. It makes the classes go faster and when all the dog in the class are done with their exercises we all do the long sit together.
Thanks
Fry
