Max, if this were my bitch and an xray in 5, 6 months didn't look any better, I would not use her for breeding. Actually if this bitch has HD, her hips will be worse in 6 months, it is a progressive disease. I'd wait to see what OFA or a radiologist thinks and go from there.

Sorry, I truly understand the disappointment, been there done that more times than I care to remember and it's always the good dogs that have the bad hips. I've never owned a mediocre dog that didn't clear its hip xrays and 3 of them were rated excellent. Go figure.....

I have to disagree on the X-ray. If you  look closely you can see that the hole in the pelvic bone on the left is closer to the midline than the hole on the right. This makes makes the right side look looser and you can see down into the socket a little.

I had a previous post and was given this link http://www.leerburg.com/hipart.htm. You will see that positioning is everything and yours was slightly off. Not sure about the deepnes of the sockets but the positioning is off.

The right side of the photo is of course reversed and that really is her left hip.

So do the hip judges take possition or anything into consideration when looking at these or do they just judge what they see?  A bad x-ray can get a bad result even if the hips are good?
