please put yr breed and SL/WL etc biases aside and the pointless hypothesis generation re prior conditioning...etc

this i truly believe is as good as it can be expected to get in terms of drive balance, thresholds, clarity, trainability ......

also not the typical drive exploitation of high drive puppies you see so many idiotic breeders put up where they just tease the crap out of puppies whipping them into an incoherent frenzy for demo purposes to impress clueless newbs, this is def the shixt, am i see it wrong?

ETA, wrong forum, mods please move, i can't

by vk4gsd on 05 January 2014 - 20:01

have you seen anything better, anywhere or anytime???

i would like to see what you think is more than just a "nice" puppy.

vids would be helpful, thanks.

Video's? Hell I do not even take pictures of my dogs. lol  I can not judge greatness in 7 min and 53 seconds. It looks like a nice puppy to me. Does this mean it will be a great dog?  No, only time will tell. Do I like the puppy? Yes. Would I drive 1000 miles to test it? Yes Would I pay big bucks for it at 3 months old? No

I tested a 6 week old puppy out of a great dog and he impressed me more then any puppy I had ever seen, but because of a time factor I did not buy him. At 1 year old that puppy was shit.

The puppy video was shot in 2011.  This video below was taken in Nov 2013 of the same dog after an injury.
What I found best in that puppy video was that a very excited pup with that much drive did not bite the kids when he found the scent.

Moved from Show conformation to Sport/working Enthusiasts, hope this was where you wanted it.

Better or best is revelant to how much and how many you have seen. So the standard is different for many.

nice puppy for sure, but I don't see anything I haven't seen before in that video.

Both vids not visible in Germany because of the music rights ...

by vk4gsd on 06 January 2014 - 20:01

yes it is all relative yada yada, still i would like an analysis of the pup's drives and behavior or at least some vids of something someone considers a better example. seriously dogs on the pdb become legends of mythical proportions based on 30 second you tube clips of an adult dog doing a B&H or even just a still pic of a dog standing in a show stack.
