I never was any good at science. Can someone explain what this means? If they do find the Higgs, then what? There is a God, there isn't a God? I'm confused.

It means that Higgs will now take all the credits of what Boses established in his theory. JMO.
Higgs stole Boses theory (adding to it his pseudo magnificent after thought) and recieved a Nobal Prize when it was published in a Journal.
Einstein was pissed at Higgs for publishing Boses theory so translated it to German and exposed Higgs with his personal commentary just so the truth was known.
This Higgs Bosen debate was a big deal in Physics when I was in school because Einstein credit referenced Bosen multiple times with his "0" point energy field.
