Sorry, didn't follow the link.
Fox news is not my cup of tea.
In theory Jesus would do nothing about the economy.
The only way to bring back our economy is to bring back our jobs.
Don't hold your breath waiting for that one.

You really ought to watch the video; it has everything to do with the title of this thread.

I'm sorry.  I can't watch anything with former governer Mike Huckabee.  He is directly culpable for the sexual abuse of two little girls, and the murder of four Lakewood Police Officers: Mark Renninger, Ronald Owens, Tina Griswold, and Greg Richards.

I just noticed, miracles do happen, they just take time sometimes! Congrats on your new name, Myracle, I like it!

For those of us on dial up, can you give us a rundown?

If we had all followed Jesus, the world wouldn't be in this mess.

Well, it is explaining why a Democrat can invoke the name of Jesus and not get crucified for it, whereas a Republican saying the same thing would be attacked for not separating Church from State. The Democrat is trying to explain that it is a common expression meaning simply, "To Do The Right Thing". I didn't watch the very, very end, got distracted.

Mike Huckabee is talking to Rep. Charlie Rangel because Rangel made the following statement:  "What would Jesus do about the economy?"  Huckabee said, "Jesus would pay his taxes."  The two debated over how a democrat could make a statement about Jesus and no one criticizes them, but when a republican makes a statement and mentions Jesus people would say, "You're bringing religion into it."  Any way, in the end, the two of them agreed that the tax system is not fair and that income tax should be based on overall income (flat tax), not passive income vs wage income.

I think the distinction is in the fact that on a whole, the Democratic party does not propose religious dogma as the foundation for national law, in contrast with the Republican party which is rather well known for it.

There is a difference between making an allegorical point [What Would Jesus Do?], and actually advocating the teachings of a specific religion as the law of the land [theocracy akin to Sharia law.]
