German Shepherd DogVA3 HR SG97 BSZS'03 Zambo vom Aspenhaus IPO 3In one of the comments above someone mentioned that besides Zapp they also gave high praise to Gomes vom Luxol. I'm the owner of Gomes having acquired him in 2006. Having been a small time hobby breeder since the early 1960's, I can tell you the picture of Gomes on the database doesn't give credit where credit is due. He's a magnificent stallion who produces great movement, pigmentation and many beautiful offspring.I looked at Zambo's pictures showing, the ones on the back page that shows him working. The only difference I can see is that Gomes has a fuller tail-- just like the fox. Otherwise they are mirror images of one another. ....13.2 years ago

German Shepherd DogV Douglas aus Wattenscheid IPO1, SCHH2I have never seen this dog before but after seeing what he can produce I would not hesitate to use him. He seems to have a very strong genetic influence over his progeny. ....15.2 years ago
German Shepherd DogV Timo Fixfrutta IPO2Would have liked to see him in person but this really looks like a stud to me. I own one of his daughters who demonstrates one of the most ground covering movements I have seen. Some may fault his color but doesn't looking at the same color over and over begin to get a little boring. I would also like to say that I have noticed a marked change in the phenotype of the German Shepherd dog over the last 15-20 years. The Germans, God bless their hearts, the people we trust the most to maintain the rigid standards the world looks to them for--have followed the American's road to perdition ending in the shepherd we love looking like a shepherd with frog legs in the rear quarters and temperaments that are sometimes questionable. It's time to go back to the drawing table and to reconcile the types of dogs in the high-lines and their working dog counterparts and then using the best of both worlds get back to what we all brag about to our friends and buyers but which in reality we have abandoned. We all like a beautiful dog--and that's no lie! But let us not forget what we have been called on as caretakers of the breed is to maintain the integrity of our breed. Our dogs were bred to work and to serve and if they are good looking that's icing on the cake. ....15.2 years ago

German Shepherd DogVA5 Nero vom Nöbachtal SCHH3The SV made the correct decision in banning Nero and his progeny. They drew a line in the sand that couldn't be crossed and in doing so upheld the integrity of the breed. Here in the USA there are often excuses for everything which makes everyone feel good but doesn't take into consideration what the long term negative effects it will have on the breed. Look at the American German Shepherd and decide for yourself if we want to go down that road. ....16.6 years ago
German Shepherd DogX-ray vom MühlenbruchFew people will ever read these lines but X-ray was my boy for a number of years. He didn't have V conformation or anything close to it. He was a massive animal full of life and never down trodden. He seemed to always have a smile on his face and was ready for any and every thing life could throw at him. What he lacked in conformation he made up in intelligence and character. He was a dog that I will never forget. For a picture of him go to my web-site at www.vomrheinlander.com and then take a peek in My Scrapbook. His son bandit is on my contact page. Take it easy old boy I'll be with you soon. ....19.4 years ago
