I would love to check the accuracy of BH and Sch titles claimed to be attained. How do I go about verifing that info?

Thanks in advance!

Ask to see the scorebook.

If you verify the Sch, you don't need proof of the BH (or AD).

you can call the gsdca-wda or usca and ask.

Blitzen, I am aware that if a dog gets his Sch there is no need to verify the BH.  I guess my wording wasn't the best.  Sorry didn't mean to make anyone scratch their head.  I really wanted to know about the BH on a dog.  I think someone just "put" the BH on a dog that really doesn't have it.. But before I openly accuse anyone, I want to have proof of what I am saying...

Sitsamom, can that information be found on the club's website or by contacting them by email.?

Unknown, asking to see the score would have been the first thing I did if I knew who actually owned the dog.  Also the problem is getting the owner to respond to me.

The clubs/titles/scores/dog names/handlers are printed in the results section of the club magazines.. Takes a few months to show up, but ask a member to look in their magazine. (DVG and USA).
I am not sure about the others..  I would think you could call the organization and confirm it.

Blitzen, an AD is not a requirement for getting a Schutzhund title (all of which are now IPO titles).

As for the BH, who would brag or lie about it? It isn't a breeding title, or even a title at all.
It doesn't mean anything other than the dog and handler have fulfilled the requirement to compete for an IPO1
.

I will add this, though. If the BH was a requirement for all breeds as a minimum standard for breeding a dog in this country, you would see a lot less breeding going on and a lot better dogs being bred and produced.

Just be aware that the printed results are not always timely and that's not the handler's fault if their result is not printed in the very next issue.  When I earned my first ever SchH title I was excited to see it printed (silly, I know but it was my first SchH title) and magazine after magazine came with no results from the trial.  I finally asked the host club what happened and they told me that everything was being delayed because of a bad sport.  Someone had entered the trial to do a BH.  Her dog acted up and she did not pass the obedience portion.  I don't really understand how it works but apparently this person didn't have the right scorebook or papers to begin with but the organization allowed her to enter anyway and since she didn't pass she never finished turning in the paperwork or something to that effect, so the official results were delayed, I think almost six months.

OGBS, it shouldn't come as a surprise to you that some people WOULD lie about such a thing!  That is why I am asking...
