Hello,
Sorry I am posting what must be a very often posted subject/question however I am a newbie so please ..patience.
After many years of putting off getting my GSD I want to seriously get some feedback from the people on this site. I really like the black and red GSD's for their look and from what I have seen particulary like the west german show lines (direct from Germany are best). Where might I find the best quality? Are breeders the best place to find them and if so which breeders? I am located in Montreal Quebec but, I am willing to travel to get the best match and also willing to wait for the perfect pup. Also, I really do not want a dog that has too much drive as he will be mostly a campanion and protector for my home and family. Do these ideas clash? Am I going about this all wrong?

Hired Dog: She would probably be mostly working lines, correct. Just curious but definitely some beautiful dogs. good luck in your search, Nan

That is correct Nan, which is why I did not say "for sure" she can help. She may have something or know of someone else up there that the OP likes and gets the dog they are looking for.
