I've been following the posts on fur savers and since i know i don't have anywhere near the knowledge that all of you have - could some explain to me exactly what is a fur saver ? are there more then one kind are they the same as a choke collar

hi yes the fursaver works like a choker only instead of regular chain it has super large oblong links that does not roll as bad in a groove like a choker. I never had a fur problem on my collars as they do not stay on the dog long and personally do not like the preformance of these fursavers neither do i prefer a choker. I have a prong that I modified the clasp on that is my preference it is less damaging and the dogs listen better with less discomfort I think. Any of these should be fitted and used properly. I am against folks using them without the instruction on how to properly do so.

thank yu for your help i always thought the fur savers were the chokers with the bar across their necks what do
feel is the best collar to use for non training times as i understood the post you made prongs are used for training only did i get that right thks again

yes, prongs should never be worn without direct supervision if you have to keep a collar on full time and hair breakage is an issue i would go with a quality rolled leather great for full time and tags.
