In her heart Bella might still be a longcoat, but tough to tell by looking at her. LOL  She's going through another coat change righ now and her bushy tail is disappearing along with the wavy coat on her hindquarters. All that's left is a bit of extra fluff around the sides of her face and the back of her head, which is also shedding right now. I've seen longer hair on the standard coats. LOL. Just thought those who made predictions when Bella was a pup might be interested in seeing Bella at 13 months. (Picture was taken last night.)

No, she sure doesn't look like a long coat in that pic.

She still has too much "mane" for lack of a better term to call her a stock coat. However, she does seem to have an undercoat, so I guess she'd be a long stock coat or plush. True long coats do not have undercoat and do not blow their coats like that.

So now I am confused again as to what the long coat really looks like  AT ALL TIMES . What ever she is trodegirl she looks very nice . When the COAT DEBATE gets settled please let us all know .

ONLY HER HAIR DRESSER KNOWS FOR SURE.

There is an advantage to having a "longcoat" with a short coat. Bella's coat never matts like my male longcoat. Although he sheds several times a year, his coat always looks the same. I have all the fringe around his face and on his legs trimmed several times a year as it matts very easily (A real pain in the butt.)

I have also been following the other thread about the changes for the longcoats next year. I was wondering if a judge decides your dog is a longcoat, would a negative DNA test over rule the judge?  It will be most interesting to see how things are sorted out.
