i just bought 2 (1 large and 1 extra large) soft-sided crates from dog.com for $67.08. thats for both crates and shipping. i haven't been able to find an xl size for angus for under ~$100 until dog.com had their sale. they are pretty nice and come with their own zippered case and with stakes in case of high winds (angus weighs 92 lbs, so it'd have to be a pretty strong wind lol). i ordered them about 2 wks ago and just got them today. if anyone is in need of a crate, check them out.

wow, that's a great price!  I've paid that much just for one.  They are handy for certain times.

Let me know how well it holds up - I've heard mixed reviews.

Thanks for the info! I have been thinking about getting one. Are they easy to assemble and disassemble?

I know a club member that tried to put a fiesty working line in one and she practically walked through it.

Very easy to set up and take down.  I would not use it during protection or anything like that.  But for a hotel stay or a seminar type thing it worked out pretty well.

My older female walked through one as well.  Husband thought that he was being nice by putting her in the far roomier soft sided crate while we were at work.  What a beast!

My male can walk a soft crate across the room. Some dogs you can't trust in a soft crate and he's one of them.

At the time my Ike was a youngin and he could be trusted in the soft sided crate, but not the older, slicker female!  She even broke out of Vari Kennel type crate, though not a true Vari Kennel.   It had a "softer" door and she grabbed it with her teeth and pulled it inward bending it and eventually busting out.   This is also the dog that took the scat mats off of the couch by their power boxes.   She doesn't miss a trick!   And at the time the mixed breed that we had, just put the couch pillows on top of the scat mats and laid on those!

i got the crates especially for the doggie drill team stuff angus and i participate in. it will just give him his own quiet space if he wants it.  i can't imagine putting a dog in one all day, or even a few hours - that's for the metal crates. they are very easy to put up and down and they fit easily into the handled case. they aren't too heavy. i can't imagine using these as regular crates - even the calmest dog would realize that they could "walk through".  i 'd love to see a dog walk it across the room tho. that's a great image.
