Thank,

Stinks for a while..... But after the tomato juice rinse liberally with apple cider vinegar..... That really helped take the smell out of my 2 girls when they got a hold of a skunk!!!!!!  Good Luck

Apple cidar vinegar is the MUCH cheaper alternative to the tomato juice. The point is the oil-breaking quality of the vinegar. Dawn dish washing liquid first, the ACV rinses til stink-free.

Growing up, we lived in a very rural community, we had a 75 acre propertys next to a community ball park.  I had a lab that TWICE got too close to a skunk, and twice found us kids at the baseball park during a Saturday game - we were NOT too popular with the other kids or their families....  we didn't have a bunch of tomato juice so Mom made us use soap and water - and it did NOT work - we threw the dog in the lake - nothing - we used the hose - nope - we sprayed with cologne - nope - - the poor dog had to stay outside for at least a week if I recall.  Twice!  LOL!

Dawn dish washing liquid is a god-send for stinkies. It's also what rehabbers use to de-oil marine birds and wildlife.

tomato juice does work.

dish soap liquid does too.

apple cider vinegar does as well. spray and spread either one ont he dog liberally, wait a few minutes, rinse him with the hose, if needed repeat, then use a dog shampoo and lather and rinse again.

Report back.
