strange ads - varying kennel names

sometimes i just enjoy reading ads for litters, dogs for sale or for stud. i always enjoy seeing pics of pups and i like to keep track of some of my favorite bloodlines and who's breeding what to what. lately, i have noticed an extraordinary number of ads that seem to be in the same location in s.e. kansas.........under different kennel names and personal names. i have received at least 2 unsolicited emails from one of the kennel names at this location. i find this highly suspect since i have never advertised a litter on this site and have not done any breeding for at least 3 yrs and before that was about 14 yrs ago. has anyone else noticed this, received emails from them or questioned the abundance of kennels at this same location? i suppose there could be a legitimate reason for this, but i doubt it.

in one case, the kennel name indicates a completely different state and region than what is indicated on the map.

Ummmm... dude..... that location in SE Kansas is pure bogus. Oli set up a feature that allows folks to identify their location, provided they know where in "GPS" they are. The default location is the point in Kansas that is the geographical center of the USA. Beings that most folks are clueless.... Kansas it is.

still not quite sure i understand. my location shows up correctly and i know for a fact that i did nothing with it. infact, i didn't even know anything about it until i stumbled on to it after the fact. a number of others that i know of appear correctly on the map as well. maybe i just don't un derstand how the map thingee works.

It is not just you ,.. I noticed it also....Hansk9 had an ad Pups in Alabama or something like that and the map showed the same place the other three kennels I just lookd at...
It is like when you edit your post/////// The date is you log in membership date , not the date you edit..

Something is not working right because I know Alabama is not in Kansas..

The default map location is in Kansas. I had to change mine. Some computers may put your location in for you ok, just depends on the settings I guess. If you're not paying attention to your ad, your kennel will be in Kansas.

lol... luv, my thoughts exactly.

I want a kennel name, just so I can register it and leave it as the default map location...
then after awhile I can fix it, and say...

"We're not in Kansas anymore!"

I think my foundation bitch should be named Toto.

I just assumed that was the default location for the US, maybe that's smack dab in the middle of the US.

I see the same thing all the time with Germany, pointing to the same spot.
