A provisional date has been set for this years event. For any-one in any doubt about its success in 2008 - just have a look at the website

and then bring your juniors to come and join in the fun and learning for 2009.
The provisional date is 11th July 2009. The venue remains at Mount Farm, Stowe Lane, Hixon, Staffordshire ST18 0NR. The date is the day before the BGSDTC Championship Show at St Helens - which is only one hour from the Rally venue. We hope that this enables participants and helpers to attend both events.
If this date, that has been chosen to co-incide with kids school hols too - is a problem for any Show Secs., could you please email Shirley on mascani@btinternet.com
We have already had two sponsors come forward and would like to thank them both - all will be acknowledged on the website. - second sponsor being put on this evening hopefully.
There is lots going on at the site for the young enthusiasts - one interesting event is a competition for logo design for the 2009 Rally tee-shirts - would be so grateful for any-one picking up the website addy and spreading the word around the UK,

Its so nice to hear that the Rally is already in hand - I know from all the photos that many people enjoyed it so much last year and I imagine it will be even better this year.
You mention that it has been booked to co-incide with school holidays - unfortunately in Surrey the holidays dont start until 23 July 2009.

The importance of handlers in our sport cannot be overstated, indeed many exhibitors reduce their show entries because of the difficulty obtaining handlers, others simply give up showing their dog(s). There can be no doubt that we need to encourage as many new handlers into our sport as possible, and this excellent initiative will certainly have a very positive impact on our sport.
All GSD exhibitors should support this event in whatever way they can, and every donation however small will certainly help.

I would like to see the GSD Breed Council organise a GSD HANDLERS training seminar, which should be focused on ADULTS who wish to become proficient GSD Handlers. There can be no doubting the benefits of such a seminar, which can improve the handlind skills of existing handlers, and also introduce new adult handlers into our sport. Training always increases the competence and confidence of the trainees, which will flow through with beneficial effects on our sport.
As a special incentive the BC may consider inviting one of Germany's TOP GSD Handlers to the seminar.

Thanks for the pledge David, very kind of you - Shirley is in Dubai at present, but will be thrilled when she gets back to see interest building up already. Also great suggestion re the seminar. Leibe, sorry the hols done co-incide, but its Sat - try to get up here, love to see you. Mo
